Huge shoutout to The Tint Shop for going above and beyond! They made the whole process so easy, answered all of my questions, and helped me choose the perfect tint percentage.

The difference in temperature with ceramic tint is absolutely crazy. In this Texas heat, it’s an investment that’s 100% worth it—especially when you’re transporting buttercream cakes!

Oh, how far we have come. 🤍

This little sign has traveled a lot of miles with me. It stood through the Texas summer heat, the pouring rain, and those market days when the streets flooded. It was there through it all.

What started as a seasonal hobby during one of the darkest seasons of my life quickly became so much more. It became a piece of who I am. It helped me find the version of myself I had been searching for since high school. The real me. The place where I belong. The thing that brings me peace, purpose, and a genuine smile.

Today, I’m hanging up this little sign and retiring it, replacing it with an embroidered banner. It’s just a sign to most people, but to me, it’s a reminder of where this journey began and how faithful God has been every step of the way.

Every time I walk into my pantry, I’ll be reminded of how far I’ve come… and even more excited for where I’m headed.

And speaking of where I’m headed… tomorrow, I’m sharing something BIG. 👀✨

🥵 Texas Brides… This Week’s Triple-Digit Heat is No Joke! ☀️🎂

With temperatures expected to reach 100°+ across much of Texas, now is the perfect time to talk about protecting your wedding cake and reception food!

Beautiful weather doesn’t always mean it’s cake-friendly.

🌡️ Approximate temperatures where icing begins to soften:

🧈 Whipped Cream Frosting: 40–50°F
• Must stay refrigerated.
• Not recommended for outdoor weddings.

🧀 Cream Cheese Frosting: 60–70°F
• Softens quickly and should not sit outside for long.
👇 MOST USED 👇
🧁 American Buttercream: 75–80°F
• Begins to soften.
• By 85–90°F, it can sag, droop, and melt—especially in direct sunlight.

🎂 Swiss & Italian Meringue Buttercream: 75–85°F
• More stable than traditional buttercream but still susceptible to heat.
• Above 85°F, expect softening and possible sliding.

🎀 Fondant: 85–95°F
• It doesn’t melt like buttercream, but it can sweat, become sticky, bulge, sag, or even slide off the cake in extreme heat and humidity.

⚠️ And don’t forget the food!

When outdoor buffet items, desserts, and appetizers sit between 40°F and 140°F, bacteria can multiply rapidly. 😳 Proper food handling and temperature control are essential for keeping your guests safe.

💡 Wedding Planner Pro Tips:
✔️ Keep your cake indoors UNTIL it’s time to cut it.
✔️ Avoid placing it in direct sunlight and extremely high temperatures.
✔️ Work with your planner and caterer to ensure cakes and food are protected from the Texas heat.

Your wedding cake is a centerpiece you’ve invested in. Listen to your planner and baker! 💯 Don’t let 100° Texas temperatures turn it into a puddle before you even get to cut it! A little proper planning can save a lot of heartache. 🩵
