Sicily reminded me of traveling coastal Italy in college. We pulled this Taormina trip off with two weeks of very minimal planning - which has become my favorite new way to travel. No time to hem and haw about decisions. Book the trip and do the thing. Sometimes you end up on the tarmac for four hours with technical difficulty, but it all works out. 😉

Mud Season in Vermont. We thought salted roads were the worst, but we had short term memory loss. Because nothing compares to the Mud. The perfect Mudroom solves all your woes - it corals the dirt, masks the dirt until you have time to sweep it up, and it stores anything that has touched the dirt. Which I believe are the three keys to a clean-ish house. 😉

It feels like the entire county is preparing for a snowy weekend, but the big question is did you survive the grocery store, and what are you cooking? This kitchen is built for a crowd, but the kitchen island is the perfect prep spot for some sort of elaborate pasta making. And I might be able to snowshoe over. 😉

Sunday morning is a thing. Different wake-up time, different rituals and different pace all together. This custom bunk bed design has a built in charging nook that doubles as a spot for storage, hard wired sconces and the coziest bedding. With a sneaky twin bed lofted above, the space is set for the snooze cycle.

This fireplace will forever make all of us at KT2 happy. We live in the land of colonial houses and often times we are looking for ways to connect spaces without going to a fully open floor-plan. This fireplace was an integral part of that solution. Scroll through and see how it all ties together.

Stormy and frigid outside, warm and toasty inside. I have been holding onto this photo for the first New England snowfall. And it feels like success as the big puffy flakes fall outside my window. Building warm and toasty shelters that make your winter days a New England dream is not a bad end goal as a company. We are the kind of family that use our Living Room daily. Drinking coffee, doing homework, unwinding at the end of the day. But it wasn’t always like this. To make a Living Room a space that people gravitate towards you have to play to the crowd. This Living Room works triple time as a Sitting Room, Library and Music Room. Try to avoid that trifecta. 😉
