WELCOME BACK! We were thrilled to see the excitement in our customers when we reopened our doors today after a week away.

It is a perfect week to stop by for a bowl of our new coconut kabocha squash soup with pumpkin seeds and homemade sourdough croutons! This soup was a hit today -- It will be on the menu all week. As usual, made fresh with all certified organic produce from our farm .mt, pairs perfectly with a grilled cheese on our sourdough sandwich bread (baked fresh daily!), you can't go wrong!

This week's sandwich special: CORNED BEEF AND KRAUT.

Corned beef brisket from , sauerkraut made from all certified organic veggies from our farm .mt, horseradish mayo, grilled on our rustic sourdough bread. With it, comes our chefs special Asian kale salad.

We will be CLOSED next week, October 16-22 for a little fall break. You may see us around the cafe doing some repairs and maintenance, but we are taking this opportunity for some down time to rest and relax after a very long and challenging year thus far!

We are so grateful for the support of this community and look forward to serving you during our regular hours this week! Stop by to pre-order and/or stock up on bread and veggies before Sunday!

New SEASONAL TOAST is in!

Rustic organic sourdough toast topped with roasted kabocha winter squash, caramelized onion and garlic with a touch of balsamic, and drizzled with organic olive oil. All veggies provided by .mt and as always, 100% certified organic.

Holy moly, sweet and savory and oh so delicious!

This is our new staff favorite! Come in and try it for yourself.

Kabocha is loaded with vitamins A and C and also provides a great source of fiber, magnesium, and potassium! This toast loaded with nutritional goodness.

We will bring in winter squash for retail sales very soon so that you can take home all the fixings to experiment with your own fall toasts at home.

Don't let these warm sunny days fool you! Fall is upon us and we have some nice hot soup on our menu for ya.

This week we have a homemade vegetarian POTATO LEEK soup. Made from all organic veggies from .mt and topped with our sourdough croutons, red scallion, cheddar and Romano cheese.

I'm sure you have heard the term "farm-to-table" but have you heard the term "seed-to-table?" The leeks in this soup took our farmer, Jay, 197 days to grow for us to use in this soup!! ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY SEVEN! Doesn't it make you question if leeks should cost a little more?? What a commitment. We grew them knowing they would be used in a staple soup for our fall and winter menu. In addition to the many days spent carefully growing, watering, weeding, and protecting them from the elements, time then had to go into harvesting, washing, and packing these babies up in our reusable totes to bring to the cafe (a short journey of a few miles) where our team then processed them to create this delicious and creamy soup!

Next time you see your farmer, make sure to give them a high five or a hug and thank them for all their hard work! This is the time of season when we all begin to feel a little extra exhausted.

Kidding, but we did want to share the local news piece that we were recently featured in. We loved hearing the excitement in the voices of our customers when they came in last week after seeing us on the news. We are surrounded by such a wonderful and supportive community and are excited to continue developing our businesses to offer even more organic produce, prepared food, and education to you all!

Kidding, but we did want to share the local news piece that we were recently featured in. The seasons are changing and so is our menu! Here at The Sour Doe, we adjust our menu based on what is available at our farm .mt and other local farms. You may have noticed that our greens have transitioned from summer lettuces to harty greens like kale, spinach, arugula, and mustard.

New to our menu this week is a seasonal veggie sandwich on our house-made rustic sourdough. This sandwich is loaded with organic hummus, an arugula mustard mix, thinly sliced hakurei salad turnips and lightly boiled beets, and tomato. Our new seasonal side salad is a cold beet salad with feta, sunflower seeds, red scallion and our balsamic dressing.

Have you tried our sundried tomato mayo? All of our sauces are made in house. We just pulled a fresh batch of heirlooms from the dehydrator. It is a great way to use those extremely ripe tomatoes and savor the flavor! You can try this sauce on our BLT, breakfast sandwiches, or make a special request to have it added on.
