Sweet Recovery will be closed during school year. After a few days of binge watching Cupcake Wars...she took to the kitchen herself!!

After Sofia's open heart surgery in 2015, she needed a way to burn off the energy, without too much physical exertion. Baking cupcakes to friends, family, teachers, neighbors, and even families of other heart patients at Children's Hospital. Sofia is now a junior at Johnson&Wales University, getting a degree in Baking and Pastry. She is not taking orders at the time since she is out of state. Thank you for visiting the page!

Sweet Recovery will be open starting 8/17, as Sofia continues her classes remotely from Virginia. Her menu of items have expanded into entremets, tarts, pies, bagels, breads, biscuits, and of course cakes and cupcakes. PM if you would like to place an order!

Sofia will be taking orders for pies and tarts starting on 11/23 thru Thanksgiving morning. PM your order if interested!

Sofia can make apple, blueberry, cherry, chocolate, banana cream, pumpkin, and pecan. Double crust (top and bottom) are $25, Single crust are $20.

Small tarts Include salted caramel, chocolate, fruit and lemon meringue. $8 each.

So fun celebrating the HS graduation of dear friends’ son yesterday. Off to WVU soon! Sofia’s baker her first cake of the summer. Red Velvet with Cream Cheese filling and swiss meringue buttercream frosting.

Last cake of the season...to celebrate a local Eagle Scout!

After a very busy year in the kitchen, Sofia is taking a break to enjoy a few weeks of R&R before she heads to school at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI! Thanks to all of her clients for helping to make her first year in business such a success! See you next summer!

Graduation season means non-stop whir of the KitchenAid mixers, constant heat radiating thru the convection ovens, our food in coolers to make room for cakes in refrigerators, dining room table littered with packing supplies, blankets on the couch so she can catch a few winks in between..and the smell of red velvet, chocolate..or something else sweet in the house. All in all, she’s been very busy! So fun to see all of these college creations! One more weekend and 3 orders to go..before she shuts down for a few weeks to enjoy some R&R.

Sofia had a busy weekend. Chocolate Birthday cakes on Saturday and a pre-wedding celebration for her HS soccer coach on Monday! She had so much fun doing all of them! Soccer Ball was filled with purple and black m&m’s, much to coach’s surprise!

Our Story

UAfter Sofia's open heart surgery last year, she needed a way to burn off the energy, without too much physical exertion. After a few days of binge watching Cupcake Wars...she took to the kitchen herself!! Baking cupcakes to friends, family, teachers, neighbors, and even families of other heart patients at Children's Hospital. So, she has now put her passion into building this little business for herself. Besides making money, she is helping to build her portfolio to hopefully get accepted to a culinary school after graduating from Potomac Falls HS next June.
