Hello Friends!
A few weeks ago we wrote a post to let you all know that we would need to take some time to reconsider the direction for The Donut Route. After much thought, prayer and ambivalence, we have decided to close The Donut Route. This doesn’t necessarily mean there is no way we would re-open ever, but for now we are going to take a big step back.
When we started this business, we went into it not knowing what we didn’t know. One thing I can say is, I have the utmost respect for anyone who works in the food service industry; it is seriously difficult work creating a consistent product that people want more of. I can also say that running a business well is one thing, but making a living is a totally different animal and where we are at right now, we don’t feel that it is the right decision for our family to take all the necessary steps to try making a living out of The Donut Route.
It has been so fun making donuts, working with amazing people and collaborating with so many incredible people and organizations. Indaba (Sarah Wellenbrock, Bobby, PJ), Mandala Chai, Feast World Kitchen (Ross Carper), Taco Vado (Mark), Boulevard Mercantile, Kyle Baker, Stan Kowaleski, Julia and Clifford York, Danny and Hannah Gubitz, Averson Design (website), Joey B (logo), ESI promos (merch) and so many more.
If you want to know more about what went into the decision to step away, feel free to message us or give Jeremy a call or text. He would be happy to give more details.
We are so grateful for all of you who tried our donuts, ordered, helped us deliver and so much more. We appreciate grace as this has not been an easy decision for us and as we all know, this last year has been incredibly difficult for us and so many. Thank you for your support!
With so much love,
The Clark family
