HI FRIENDS!!! We are throwing out a MAYDAY! 😔
About a month ago, you may have seen posts from myself and my buddy Gage with Breaüxdoo Bakery among other companies/bakeries who are really struggling this summer. Ingredient costs are through the roof. Labor! Taxes! Utilities! It’s been a slow, agonizing summer!
After that post, WE WERE SOOOO HAPPY TO SEE SO MANY SMILING FACES! So many new faces! So many shares and “we will come see you”…. But sadly after about a week, it went back to being pretty slow… dare I say, slower than before. 😢 we understand a cinnamon roll is the last thing on your mind when it’s 100* outside! But we sure miss those faces!
I’m gonna be honest……. Bake My Day is surviving week to week! Our bakery needs some major renovation, but we are tapped out! We need more equipment, but it’s out of our budget! We make enough to pay payroll and ingredients every week… but honestly we are one blow away from not being able to recover. One appliance breaks! One broken window! One catastrophe!!! And our doors will be closed! As I sit here sobbing writing this….. I’m scared!
I hate to put out a mayday…. But I’m hoping that it will give maybe some glimmer of hope or light at the end of the tunnel.
Please send your friends and family for some of your favorite baked goods. Please tell others about us. And please come see us if you’re able. We know this economy isn’t being kind to any of us, but if you are able, we would love to see you! If we don’t see more smiling faces soon, you won’t be able to see ours much longer! 😭
It’s been suggested we start a GoFundMe. I honestly don’t feel that is the best route especially with the fees they charge, but if anyone does feel the desire to donate to our fund to do the improvements we desperately need, we do have a CASHAPP $bakemydayspokane

It’s the LAST night of our LONG-RANGE delivery service! Since we’ve opened, we have gone 12 miles any direction - as of tomorrow, our radius will go down to 5 miles! Our goal in the next few years is to stagger our retail bakeries around town so that we can hit every part of town in a shorter time, with an easier inner operation that allows for a smoother service for our amazing customers! Let’s give a big congratulations to Breaüxdoo Bakery on celebrating their 2 year anniversary yesterday!! 🥳🥳🥳
There’s a lot about this bakery that really resonates with me, & if you’re a small business owner or aspiring to be one, I think you’d understand why…
Breaüxdoo opened their doors at the beginning of a global pandemic (although they didn’t plan for this to happen).
During the last two years, this business has pivoted, adapted, hustled harder, worked to do whatever it takes, and all the while, stayed committed to selling some of the best damn cookies and cakes known to man.
Not only have they done all these things, their commitment to customer service is also bar-none.
Let me share my first experience with them…
Two weeks before Thanksgiving 2020, I had my gallbladder suddenly. My recovery took way longer than anticipated, and I found myself coming up on Thanksgiving, not knowing if I’d be able to prepare a full meal for my entire family.
So as I was scrolling through social media, I saw that they offered to sell their cookie dough for pickup before Thanksgiving, so that family could enjoy fresh baked cookies over the holidays. Yes! This was what I needed, so I ordered some for me to pick up a few days later.
Then the next night, my sister convinced me to order hot cookies for delivery. I couldn’t say no. 😂
When they delivered the cookies to my door, they also delivered the cookie dough that I was supposed to pick up a couple of days later, without me ever asking.
I literally broke down in tears at the humanity and kindness of this act, and it still makes me tear up today.
During a time of so much fear & hatred & division, they did something completely out of kindness that really hit home.
As I’ve grown to know Gage Lang, the owner, & really learned his story, I’m so inspired by all he continues to do & how he shows up. It inspires me as a business owner.
So while I might be a little too in love with their baked goodies, I’m even more inspired and impressed by how they operate.
Give them some love and support and definitely order from them if you haven’t! I promise you won’t be disappointed!
