We've got a busy month ahead of us, with lots of opportunities to shop your favorite local apothecary!!

And of course, since it's Pride month, we're bringing back a very special mocktail, the Miss Marsha Peach! Not only is the drink a tribute to LGBTQIA+ activist Marsha P Johnson, it's a great way to give back to the community!

Every purchase you make from The At Home Apothecary supports our q***r owned business, but this month 50% of the proceeds made from the Miss Marsha Peach mocktail will be donated directly to SC Equality, an organization that spends their time lobbying for LGBTQIA+ rights in South Carolina.

As southern politicians try to create a more divisive culture in South Carolina, it's never been more important to uplift and support our q***r brothers and sisters!

And you still have time to GO VOTE before market tomorrow!!!!

This election is SO important, not only because of the failed redistricting attempts, but because you have more choice this year than I've seen in years prior. We have a genuine chance to shape South Carolina into something that is less corrupt, and better for its citizens.

Early voting ends June 5th, so you still have plenty of time, but if you have voted, and want a free wellness shot, come see me at HCFM this weekend!!

Looking for something unique to make dinner special?
We've got you covered!

The biggest "complaint" I hear from people who like to eat farm fresh foods is that they're bored. Bored of a single hearty protein that's surrounded by vegetables or grains. Fortunately there is a world of flavor out there beyond seared meats and vegetables seasoned with salt and pepper, and we specialize in making that flavor accessible in your kitchen at home!

Our newest seasonal offering is a versatile and easy to use Peach & Rosemary Vinegar! It's fruity, tangy, and herbaceous, making it perfect for the wide variety of uses for infused vinegars.

This past week we used it to make a pan seared peach and rosemary chicken breast! We used only this infused vinegar, a little oil, and a bit of our Green Gardens Seasoning Blend, which added flavors of garlic, thyme, and an umami shiitake mushroom.

Tonight I plan on using it to make a vinaigrette to go over a micro green salad using microgreens from and this weekend at we'll be featuring a Peach & Rosemary lemonade on our drink menu!

Infused Vinegars have so many uses in the kitchen, and can be a great entry point for those looking to experiment with new flavors. This blend, alongside a few others, is now available on our website, and will be available at this weekend!

Does anyone else feel like the hordes of mosquitoes were just released overnight?

The rain we've been getting has brought out all of the bugs we would rather not deal with in the garden, but as you can see from pic #2, lots of bugs and good rain also bring out some of the wildlife that lives at the edge of the farm 🦃

So let's talk protection and preventatives since we obviously aren't going to spray anything in the gardens that would kill any potential pollinators.

We've been making this all natural Insect Repellent for almost a decade now, and I (alongside many other local farmers) keep a bottle right by the front door. I know if I forget to put it on before heading out into the garden, something will remind me 🫠 so I like to keep it close by.
It's made with an aloe vera and witch hazel base, which are bitter and astringent, something most flying insects will avoid upon contact. To that bitter base, we add essential oils that are used to ward off things like gnats and mosquitoes- think that citronella smell we all know too well, but rounded out with some other really favorable essential oils to make it more of a scent you feel comfortable wearing around others.

Cedarwood Hydrosol is something new we've been trying out this year, and with great success!! Cedarwood is known to repel fleas and ticks, so we've been spraying our ankles and pants legs with it before heading outside. But the real benefit to having the Cedarwood as a solo herb hydrosol, is that it's safe for dogs! Our two big guys get their legs and bellies sprayed daily before going out into the pasture, and so far this year, they have only gotten ticks twice. And they just so happened to get those two ticks during the time when we ran out this particular hydrosol and I had to make more...

Both of these farm grown insect repellents are available on my website, find the link in my bio to order yours!

Summer Shop Update? Just went live!!! ✅
(Technically it's been live since Monday afternoon, but we get busy okay?! If you sign up for our email newsletter you'll find out about things much sooner 😉)

In this shop update there are a few of our new Infused Vinegars, but only a handful since you all sold us out at The Hub City Farmers Market this past weekend! I know we have a few Strawberry, Rose, Mountain Mint vinegars, and maybe 2 Blueberry Tulsi vinegars, so act fast on those! We only use the freshest seasonal fruits in these, so once they're sold out, they're gone for the year!

We've also got our new Green Gardens Seasonal Seasoning Blend available! Green Gardens is an ever changing kitchen spice that showcases the seasonal flavors of our herb farm. This batch is made with lots of wild garlic, rosemary, thyme, and shiitake mushroom. It's earthy, umami, and heavy on the garlic!

Hydrosols are back in stock for the summer too! We just made a fresh batch of our Rosewater Hydrosol that's a perfect addition to your daily skincare routine, and a Cedarwood Hydrosol for keeping fleas and ticks away this summer!

8oz Insect Repellents are also restocked, and will continue to be available through the fall!

And finally, something I'm really excited about, out Bath Salts are back and better than ever!
Y'all know we've been taking steps and reformulating our longstanding recipes (some 10+ years old now) to have the farm as the primary source of herbs used in our remedies. This means we're only ordering herbs we absolutely cannot grow here, and some essential oils. But our new Bath Salt recipe requires no added essential oils!! So our salt soaks are now 100% Epsom salt and farm grown herbs!

Shop the full collection using the link in my bio, or come see us this weekend at at The Hub City Farmers Market!

Notice anything different? 👀

With the help of the ever so lovely we have new art for labels and merch!!

We've been growing so much lately (like actually growing a lot of medicine, but also growing as a business), and I wanted something that made the apothecary stand out while still being cohesive and speaking to who we are. So Wren and I put our heads together and came up with something really special!

For the design we chose to feature parts of the farm, focusing in on the GIANT native persimmon tree that grows at the very center of the property. Flying above is a great blue heron, a friend we have living in the woods behind us. It also just so happens to be my favorite bird. At the edges we chose to include Carolina jessamine, South Carolina's state flower, which grows at the front gate of the farm, welcoming everyone, and protecting your pickup orders.

Swipe to see the new flag we made for the trailer and the plants that are featured in the art! ➡️
