FANTASTIC UPDATE... Hannah is now with a rescue foster who is evaluating her health before she joins other geriatric cats like her. ;) Of course this was made possible because so many people cared enough to share her plea. Thanks to you all. ;)

We really need your help on this one. Hannah was left at the intake facility because her family was moving. That's sad enough, but Hannah also happens to be 18 years old. We met her as she peeked out at us from the back of her cage. When she shyly came forward to let us meet her, it was on legs that were shaking with fear. She was trying so hard to be brave though. That was enough to move our most seasoned volunteers to tears. Hannah doesn't have much time left and not a single day of that should be spent in a shelter. The few teeth she has left are not in great shape, but a generous donor has sponsored a full physical from our vet, in the hopes that she will boost her chances at finding a home. Hannah has a very gentle nature and seems to really enjoy attention. She is completely declawed too. Please help us by sharing Hannah's post! There's no time to waste....

Oh goodness Gracious.... I'm not even sure where to start with our sweet Grace. Maybe with the fact that she desperately needs a retirement home. Grace has horrendous Spondylosis (arthritis of the vertabrae) that is likely causing her unwillingness/inability to walk for more than a few steps at a time. She is also painful in her "wrists" which is also likely due to arthritis and compensating for lack of strength from her hind end. By the smell of the urine she left in Mel's car & on her fur, she likely has a pretty nasty urinary tract infection but we couldn't get enough sample to test. The hanging mass on her abdomen has an open, draining tract & she has another mass on her side. She has a BB lodged in the skin of her neck (not causing any issues right now) and she evidently ate a bobbi pin that we will need to watch for, to find out if she is able to pass it. She doesn't appear to have been spayed and the icing on the cake? She is Heartworm positive. She was sent home with Tramadol and Clavamox to help with pain and infection. Tomorrow we find out her blood chemistry results and if it's ok, we will add in an anti-inflammatory. Then we discuss with the doctor the master plan for Grace. If you're able to help with Grace's care, please do. We want to make her as comfortable as we possibly can. We often talk about the benefits of adopting a "senior" dog or cat, but Nigel wants to know why we aren't talking about senior rabbits! This six year old bunny is a bit on the older side for his species, but with good care, rabbits can live to be about 9-12 years old so he has lots of good years left! Nigel is waiting for his forever home at the Petco adoption center in Sterling Heights. If you're not a bunny person, please share so he can find his perfect family!

Bart is one of our longest time residents - he has been with us for nearly a year. In that time, he has been struggling with health issues including two torn ACLs and major food and environmental allergies. We need your help to continue Bart's care. ACL surgeries are extremely costly, and now that we have repaired one of his legs, we need to perform a second surgery. Please share Bart's story so we can raise the money needed to get him up and running again, and find his forever home.

WE HAVE GOTTEN SO MANY COMMENTS , WE CANT FIND THEM IN THE POST ANYMORE WHICH IS WONDERFUL BUT DONT WANT TO MISS THE RIGHT HOME FOR HER.
PLEASE ONLY IF YOU WOULD BE A MATCH, IF YOU HAVE QUIET HOME, EXPERIENCE WITH FEARFUL DOGS, NO YOUNG CHILDREN AND MAYBE NO OTHER DOGS UNTIL EDDA CAN FIND HER OWN WAY IN THE HOUSE, PLEASE PM US. ALSO NEED TO BE ABLE TO COME VISIT HER A FEW TIMES BEFORE SHE GOES HOME.

Seems I had the wrong age for Edda. She is more like 8 years old. Sorry for the error.
EDDA lays so quiet and sad in her bed, longing for the days when she was part of a family.
Seems that she may have become more fearful of people since she has been getting more visitors. We are not really sure what would work for her at this time. She would need to go home with someone that can help her with her issues. Not really sure what to say today PLEASE DONT CALL THE SHELTER ABOUT HER AT THIS TIME
Beautiful Edda has come a long, long way since she arrived here at the shelter back in October. A surrender, she came in covered in fleas and ticks so she needs someone that will give her the TLC she deserves for the rest of her life. About 8 years old, she is a delight to walk and loves being pet and interacting with people. She is shy and cautious here at the shelter, so she takes a little time to warm up. But once she gets to know you, she will make someone a very loyal companion. She likes other well-mannered dogs. If you have kids but not real little ones because of her shyness or a cat,, come in and meet her and ask to have her cat tested. They say she is a Labrador Retriever Mix & Chow Chow but I think she is just perfect.
She is waiting for you at the Burlington County Animal shelter, Westampton, NJ. Just come in and meet her.
