Happy Mother’s Day 🤍

So many of the cakes I make are part of celebrations with family - birthdays, weddings, and quiet moments around a table together. Days like today are a lovely reminder of how meaningful those moments can be.

Wishing a very happy Mother’s Day to everyone celebrating today 🌸

Recreating a childhood favourite, one slice at a time 🍫✨

This chocolate ganache cake was inspired by that warm fudge cake you used to be able to get in nearly every restaurant when I was little - it’s not so easy to find a vegan version!

Four layers of decadent sponge made with organic cocoa, filled and frosted with a smooth ganache buttercream. I’ve been experimenting with adding melted chocolate to my buttercream to improve texture, balance sweetness, and help it hold beautifully in warmer temperatures - perfect for wedding season.

Perfection isn’t a goal, it’s a process - and every layer, every flavour, gets my full attention.

Small weddings, big attention to detail 🤍

For this 8-guest winter wedding at The Roman Baths, we started with a watercolour sketch to explore ideas and bring the bride’s vision to life - cream and blush roses, eucalyptus, and thistles inspired by her bouquet.

Sketching first helps every element of the cake feel intentional and connected to the day. Working on a smaller cake lets me focus on the tiny details - each flower, the way they sit together and every colour blend makes the cake feel handcrafted and elegant.

It's lovely to see couples choosing smaller, more thoughtful weddings these days - the cake gets the attention it deserves and every detail feels meaningful 🤍

25kg of flour doesn’t lift itself… 🌾😅

I’ve recently switched all my cakes to organic flour from Shipton Mill, and I couldn’t be happier with the change.

Flour is the core of every cake, so it’s important to get it right! This UK-grown, Shropshire-milled flour is beautifully high quality, making my sponges even lighter with such a lovely, full flavour.

For me, it’s not just about how the cakes taste - it’s about working with ingredients that care for the world around us. Organic farming protects wildlife, nurtures the soil, and supports biodiversity. It’s a system that works with nature, not against it. This aligns perfectly with how I design my cakes: inspired by meadows, woods, and all the little details that make nature so beautiful 💚

Using this flour feels like the right choice for my ingredients, the environment, and the inspiration behind every cake I make.

Small changes behind the scenes, but they make a big difference 🥰

If you’d like to know more about the ingredients I use in my cakes, feel free to DM me!

Some celebrations feel like little turning points 🤍

This soft orange meadow cake was for a husband and wife celebrating their birthdays together - and a fresh start as they prepared to move to Frome.

They booked early to secure the date and chose vanilla sponge with wild blueberry jam. They also asked asked if we could add a snowy white top for February, with their own fox, deer and raccoon waiting to take their place on top. They celebrated with friends at in the function room they’d loved the year before.

Working with such thoughtful, enthusiastic people is always a joy - and their message afterwards... “It was absolutely beautiful and tasted stunning." meant so much.

If you’re planning something meaningful and want to chat ideas early, I’d love to hear from you 🤍

It’s not just the flavour (this was chocolate and strawberry cream 😋) - it’s the story behind the design.

This single-tier cake was hand-painted with roses and leaves inspired by nature and love stories that don’t fit into a template 🌿

Every brushstroke is created slowly and intentionally, so your cake feels personal, not mass-produced.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding cake that reflects you and your day in a natural, romantic way, I’d love to create something just for you 🤍

One of my goals this year is to improve my photography skills 📸

There’s nothing worse than creating a beautiful cake and then having a rubbish photo to show for it!
So a couple of weekends ago I joined a Photo Walk, hosted by the lovely .nigoumi 🌿

We explored the gorgeous forest at Heavens Gate - just 5 minutes from me - and while my photos started off a little wobbly, some helpful tips (and a bonus photographer who joined us) really helped me improve. Can you spot the slightly blurry shots from those that are a bit more artsy? 😂

Even a brief downpour couldn’t ruin the day – it was so lovely being outdoors and spending time with kind and supportive people. Nature always sparks ideas for me, and I came away imagining a foliage-inspired cake with layers of green and leafy textures 🍃

Still plenty to learn, but this year it’s all about smoothing out the little wrinkles that bother me, one step at a time.

Celie hosts lots of photowalks throughout the year. I'd highly recommend one if you fancy meeting some new people, getting a little creative and spending some much needed time outdoors. No special cameras needed!

Last weekend was all about celebrating family 🎉

We had five birthdays in one party, so of course it called for a very special cake. Singing happy birthday got a little complicated… but with some preparation (and excellent conducting from my uncle and mum 😄), we managed it!

My cousins’ little girls have birthdays just a few days apart, so I designed this cake with them in mind - a soft pastel palette with a few bolder tones, lots of petals and a few leafy details woven through. I painted a rough idea in my watercolour book beforehand, and I’m really pleased with how it turned out 🌸

The flavour was orange and passionfruit - partly because it’s delicious, and partly because I’ve added a new passionfruit curd to the menu that needed a proper family review… safe to say, everyone was very happy 😋

Happy birthday to Callie, Tamsin, Holly, Wayne and Callum 🥳

It was so lovely celebrating with you all - just a pity I didn’t get any photos of us absolutely annihilating the cake 🎂

Wedding cake sample boxes are going out tomorrow 🤍✨
If you’d love to be included in February’s, send me a message and I’ll pop you on the list.

Also… watch this space 👀 I’ve made some very exciting changes to my ingredients to make them even tastier and more sustainable - and I can’t wait for you to try them.

Because your wedding cake should taste just as beautiful as it looks 💐🍰

Last call for anyone that would like a Christmas Yule Log this year!

Just send me a message to order yours - please get your requests in by the end of today!

As always, there are two flavours to choose from:
❄️ Chocolate & Vanilla
❄️ Chocolate Orange & Passionfruit
100% vegan 🌱
They’re £40 each, and because these take a bit of love (and time!) to make, there are only so many I can do. So if you know you want one, don’t leave it too late.
Orders will close on the 14th of December, just to keep things organised and give me time to get everything sorted.
Collection will be from me in Warminster on the 23rd - perfect timing for Christmas.
If you'd like one, just drop me a message and I’ll get you on the list!
