While we have so appreciated the local sales of cookies, pies, pepperoni rolls and other treats, and enjoyed working together to make them for you, we realize a bigger and faster way of raising funds is going to be needed.

As we run out of time before graduation for our now adult son, and we NEED lots of medical help and other support that this area has proven unable to give, we are working diligently on moving on to the place God told us to go.

As we get settled, we would LOVE to make our dream of a special needs business a reality, so we can help others even as we are seeking help for our boys. We know the joy that God will spread around through this opportunity will be endless. Even if you can spare a buck, it all adds up and is appreciated. Please share the campaign too. Happy Easter weekend! We know at our house that it’s not about the bunny, but the unbelievable gift Jesus gave us when he laid down his life and took it up again. But Liam does love a good meet and greet with a character of any kind. 😁

He is also my little helper in the kitchen and is ready to help me mix up some treats for pick up later!

Since this is also Autism Awareness Month, I am going to take a second to be real about what it’s like to have two boys of different ages, differently affected by Fragile X and autism, who both are triggered by the presence of each other. It’s the hardest thing I have ever experienced in my life. This last year or so has been all about trying to keep big brother Lucas happy so he won’t lash out at anyone. And when he isn’t happy, and it’s just the three of us at home, all I can do is take Liam and run so he won’t get hurt. But my heart still hurts and my eyes fill with tears frequently because Lucas will then just hurt himself until he rides out the meltdown and gets settled. It’s worse than all the scars he has given me combined. I love my boys however they are, but autism is surely not always a beautiful thing. Sometimes it is devastating.

So that’s why I want to carry out the vision God gave me to open a place of business where people of all kinds of abilities can come work, come eat without judgement, and where community can be created where families like ours can come together and support each other.

All your orders go towards making that dream a reality and we have a fundraiser campaign open too. So to all of you who got your Easter pies and cookies from us and to our contributors, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.

I am taking orders for gift boxes and if you prepay, you can get this nice box for someone to relax and unwind with. I will make them pretty but styling and taking photos is not a thing Liam allows much of when he’s home. 😆

Made in my own kitchen, a jar of beef tallow balm with lavender essential oil. Curated from tallow from a local farm with free range, grass fed cattle. (Sidenote, I can customize these with any oils you or your recipient like most.)

Today’s test kitchen recipe was baked apple cider donuts. So far, my three testers were my dad, Lucas, and Liam, and they gave them the thumbs up! I have to agree, they came out great. Healthier than the fried ones everyone has during this season but still tasty!

I was thinking of a breakfast box we could have available for the rest of fall, so local friends, chime in if you would be interested in one.
