Hey everyone 👋🏻
I know it’s been a few months so I wanted to check in and give a little update on life and the bakery.
I’ve paused the business for now as I am regrouping and figuring out what the future of the business looks like. I recently discovered that some of my recipes were stolen and that someone tried to recreate my business using a variation of my business name. I also discovered some other troubling information being spread around about me including my private texts and phone calls.
It’s honestly extremely disturbing and troubling behavior and to find out this information has been very disheartening. I’ve always tried to provide quality products made with locally grown and locally sourced items. I’ve tried to donate items as often as possible and help out the community when I can. I’ve always tried to be helpful, friendly, and be a contributing member to the Shelton community. I’ve tried to suggest other bakers in the community when I’m unable to complete an order and always tried to live by the “Golden Rule”. I am a human being who is not perfect and I do make mistakes, but it’s important to remember that I am not my mistakes. I am a person who deserves grace and kindness just like I would extend to anyone else.
I’m trying to figure out what the future holds for our business. I’m honestly afraid to reopen as I don’t think I could handle going through what I’ve been going through again. It has been expensive and traumatizing for me to essentially lose a business I created from nothing when all I’ve ever wanted was to provide delicious baked goods to people. It’s just sad. Extremely, extremely sad and disheartening.
I’m thankful for my husband, my handful of friends, and family. I’ll be sure to update everyone as things progress. I know a lot of you have reached out to check on me and I sincerely appreciate that from the bottom of my heart. It’s been encouraging to see that there are people out there who miss us and our baked goods. 🩷🍪🎂🍰🧁🥧
Stay tuned… 🫰🏻
