WhiteRaven White Raven is a Shelby County Cottage Bakery focused on all things sourdough, plus a few things that aren't. Located in Shelbyville, Illinois. Hi!

Owned by Jamie Rutherford, baker, artist, author, pharmacy technician. I'm Jamie, and I've lived in Shelbyville for most of my adult life. I started baking for my family shortly after moving here, even trying my hand at a sourdough starter. Sourdough and I have gotten along pretty well! Caught in life's ups and down, I took a break from baking, but now, I am happy to be back at it. About a year ago, my current starter was 'born', as was the idea for White Raven. I have a Master's degree in Fine Arts (painting), and I am also a certified pharmacy technician. And now, I am a certified and registered cottage baker.

Set up at Assumption & Moweaqua Farmers Market ! I will be here until 10 before making the trek back to Shelbyville for Scarecrow Daze. It was a 15 hour baking day yesterday! So, come get some sourdough!! It's a beautiful day!

Is it weird that I offer encouraging words to my sourdough while it bakes? No? Completely normal? Oh, good...I will carry on.

Hey there! Try as I might, I have simply not had time to sit down and plan my online pre-orders for next weekend. Life has been extra crazy lately. But I am doing 2 events on Saturday the 10th. Assumption & Moweaqua Farmers Market and Scarecrow Daze in Shelbyville. Because of the time overlap, I will need to leave Assumption early, and will probably be a little late to Shelbyville.
Like I said, things have been super hectic lately, and I have not been on top of things like I would like. But I hope to have a great day anyway! See you on October 10th!

Hey there! My next market is this Saturday, October 10th. Actually, markets. I will be in Assumption & Moweaqua Farmers Market, but I miscalculated and will have to leave early (about 10). Because I didn't realize Scarecrow Daze is also this weekend in Shelbyville. The vendor even starts at 11. So... I imagine I will be late getting set up. But I will be at both. I may be a bit frazzled, but I will be there!

I have a few loaves left from Saturday, a couple Seeded loaves, and a chocolate. I also have a couple basic loaves, and some baguettes. These were baked earlier and frozen, so have been marked down. If you are interested, comment or message by Monday morning!
