I’m taking a break from baking.
As many of you know, I started a full-time office job this past May, and I decided to close Sugar Arts for the summer while I became acclimated to my new position.
I’m enjoying my work there and the people that I see every day, and my energy needs to be focused in that place, with those people, with the work that I’m doing. There’s a physical aspect and spiritual aspect to the place that I inhabit daily, and it’s where my energy and attention needs to flow.
I’ve thought about taking cookie orders during the holiday season, revisiting some of my old favorite designs and turning on the oven once more. For now, I’m resting. Growing. Receiving. Building. Acclimating.

Thank you sweet customers, you have been a beautiful part of my life and my children’s lives. I have enjoyed creating for you and celebrating with you. You have been a wonderful part of that chapter of my life.
