Before we ever began renovating the building that would become Aunt B’s, we weren’t just hoping to open a business—we were hoping to build something that would matter. Something that would last. After two years of pouring ourselves into the renovation and over five unforgettable years of welcoming you through those doors, we’ve now passed Aunt B’s on to a new owner with dreams of their own. Small-town small businesses are rare treasures, and it means the world to us that Aunt B’s grew strong enough, loved enough, and supported enough to be carried forward. Our chapter has come to an end, but theirs is just beginning. You can follow Yellow Brick Cafe on Facebook and visit them in the same magical storefront of Sedan at 110 E. Main Street.
This past week, we’ve been swimming in memories—laughing, crying, and trying our best to condense seven years of life into a ten-minute video. Nearly impossible. Honestly, we could have made a feature film and still had stories left over. But what a beautiful “problem” to have.
Our children grew up inside Aunt B’s. Those walls hold their tiny footsteps, their after-school giggles, their birthday parties and squeals of excitement to see the ice cream case. They watched a dream take shape—not from afar, but up close. They saw the planning, the long nights, the heavy decisions, the celebrations, the tears, and the heart we poured into every single day. That dream is woven into who they are. And what an incredible gift for them to carry forward.
We learned so many priceless lessons in this chapter. Some came easy, many came hard and God was faithful through it all. One of our greatest joys was watching our employees grow—not just in their roles, but in their lives. We witnessed first jobs and first boyfriends, victories in sports and school, graduations, college adventures, new jobs, engagements, weddings, and even sweet new babies. We feel lucky to have been part of those moments.
Truly, we could write a book filled with these stories. But for now, we’ll simply say, “See you later.” Thank you—for every memory, every visit, every kind word, every moment you spent supporting our family.
Aunt B’s was a gift. One we will hold close to our hearts forever.
With all our love,
