Adventure Tarts are Sequoia Bakery's specialty. We occasionally rotate flavors and all of the seasonal fruit/berry fillings come from local Pacific Northwest farms and mountain ranges.
⠀
Huckleberries grow wild in Washington State and their picking spots are highly sought-after. The prime harvesting season usually starts around mid-August. The huckleberries used in these Adventure Tarts were first made into a jam so delicious, you could eat it with a spoon. We then compliment the fresh huckleberry jam with almond for just the right balance.
⠀
And we couldn't help ourselves! These remind us so much of the Wildberry Pop Tart (but so, so much better) that we had to made them look a little familiar! Don't be fooled though - Our hefty Huckleberry Adventure Tarts are made with a buttery, flaky almond crust and coated edge-to-edge in a thick icing. These are like the pop tarts we wish existed! ...Did we mention the edge-to-edge icing? 🤤
⠀
🤔 But... What exactly is an "Adventure Tart?" 🤔
Fab question! It's kind of in the wheelhouse of a toaster pastry, but not quite like one you've likely ever had before. Each Adventure Tart has a unique filling ranging anywhere from seasonal fruits and berries from the Pacific Northwest, all the way to Mexican Hot Chocolate. They all include our buttery pastry crust and icing...
