Dinner party success 🍋🥩🍪

Last night, Derek and I hosted a cozy dinner with friends. We hit the grocery store early and got to work—me in baking mode with lemon bars and chocolate chip cookies, and Derek taking over the kitchen later with two apps and a full steak dinner (salad + potatoes included). All new recipes. All delicious. 🧑‍🍳✨

It’s always such a joy to slow down, catch up, and share good food with good people. Grateful for evenings like these.

✨ Back in the kitchen together.
Last night’s menu: turkey burgers off the grill, goat cheese-stuffed mushrooms, and a fresh strawberry balsamic salad (my proud creation 💁🏼‍♀️). My husband handled grill + mushroom duty while I got to play salad artist—and honestly, it felt so good to slow down, reconnect, and create something delicious together. 💛

Last night’s dinner: Creamy Tuscan Salmon over jasmine rice with a side of perfectly steamed broccoli 💚

Rich, flavorful, and surprisingly easy-
Cooking together makes everything taste better. 🥰

Creamy garlic-parmesan sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and tender salmon filets all in one pan. YES, please.

Just out of the oven: Cinnamon Swirl Bread ✨🍞

Is there anything better than the smell of cinnamon filling the kitchen? I made this cozy loaf in a decorative pan, and it turned out like a little edible sculpture—crisp edges, golden crust, and that perfect swirl inside. Timed it perfectly for Derek to wake up and have it for a night shift breakfast.

Baked with butter, love, and just enough patience to wait 15 minutes before flipping it out of the pan. Worth it. 😍

Thinking this might become a new weekend tradition. Would you slice it warm with butter or wait until it’s cool and firm?

I always forget that this time of the year is one of the busier times at work. Grateful to have a relaxing weekend with Christmas music, movies, and cookie baking. This year I baked: Gingerbread cookies, Cinnamon Snowballs, Snickerdoodles, Chocolate Crinkles, Raspberry Thumbprints, and Peanut Butter cookies. My favorite is still Chocolate Crinkles.

Halfway through the fall semester, and it calls for fall bakes! This weekend, I baked Apple Pie Bars and Pumpkin Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting. I don't think the apple pie Bars are quite as good as an actual pie, but they are easier to transport. I converted Derek, .kunda, into a pumpkin fan with the pumpkin bars! Happy Fall!

When school starts back my go to stress relief is baking. I was really in the mood to try a new cake recipe. I've seen so many posts about fall that I want to relish these last few weeks of summer. A yummy citrus cake was called for. This is my first attempt at a lemon raspberry cake with lemon cream cheese frosting. It turned out so moist and fluffy!
