Cakes of Joy has always been about more than cake.

Before pageants, before crowns and sashes, there was just a girl who loved baking and wanted to use it to make a difference in her community.

This week, I was able to create another set of birthday cakes through Cakes of Joy, and moments like these continue to remind me why I started this program in the first place. Every cake represents someone who deserves joy, kindness, and to feel remembered on their special day.

While competing has given me the opportunity to share this mission with more people, the purpose behind it has always remained the same. I’m so grateful to continue growing Cakes of Joy and using something I love to help others in a meaningful way. Won’t you come join me? 🤍

So… I took a little step back from taking orders for a while to focus on advancing my skills in culinary school, and these are some of my favorite creations from pastry class ✨🍰

Over the past few months, I’ve spent countless hours perfecting cakes, pastries, breads, desserts, and decorating techniques, and I’m so excited to finally start sharing more of that work again. Honestly, seeing how much I’ve grown as a baker has been such a rewarding feeling.

A birthday cake might seem small, but to someone who’s been overlooked, it can mean everything.

I started Cakes of Joy to make birthday cakes for people experiencing homelessness or just getting back on their feet. I’ve also been quietly working with a local program supporting survivors. Celebrating moments that don’t always get recognized, but should.

These first two cakes mean a lot to me. Not because they’re perfect, but because they were made for people who deserve to feel seen.

A cake won’t change someone’s situation. But for a moment, it can bring a little bit of joy. And that matters.

Right now, I’m covering everything myself because I believe in this that much. If you feel like supporting, sharing, or just following along, I appreciate it more than you know. 🤍

Big changes are happening 🫶
When I started Stage Door Sweets, it was all about cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. I loved every second of it. But over time (and especially through culinary school), my passion has grown into so much more.
I’ve been learning, experimenting, and creating beyond just sweets. I've made fresh breads, homemade snacks, and so much more.
So it felt like the right time for my business name to grow with me 💛
