Strawberry Nut Bread! So Delicious! I cut this recipe in half because it's makes a lot! Here is the half recipe for one loaf! I used my Pampered chef stone loaf pan.

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups of flour (sifted)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup strawberry jam (I used Smuckers)
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla till fluffy, add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg. Sift dry ingredients together in separate bowl. Add jam and sour cream to egg mixture alternating with flour until well mixed, pour into greased, floured or sugared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out dry. Enjoy!

Always loved those newspaper recipes, here is one My Aunt Bea clipped way back then from a Dear Nancy column.

RICH PUDDING BROWNIES

1 (4oz) pkg. Jell-o chocolate fudge or chocolate pudding
1/2 cup unsifted flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/3 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Combine pudding mix, flour and baking powder, mix well. Melt butter in saucepan, remove from heat and add sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Blend in vanilla and pudding mixture, stir in nuts.
Spread in greased 8 inch square pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes, cool in pan, cut into bars and serve.

I didn't have a square pan so I used a round, this recipe does not make a big batch, consider doubling the recipe!
