Spare Change for Change

Spare Change for Change "Spare Change for Change" is a philanthropic club that raises money to support the needs of at-risk youth at Orangewood Children’s Foundation.

"Spare Change for Change" (SC4C) was founded in March 2010 for Isabel's Bat Mitzvah project. She began by collecting spare change from her family and selling cookies once a week at school. Within a year, SC4C had raised over $1,000 for Orangewood Children's Foundation. Orangewood Children’s Foundation supports abused, neglected, and abandoned k

ids in Orange County. These children have been taken out of their homes and many are left with nothing. The money we collect supports the purchase of clothes, blankets, toys, and other items on the Foundation’s wish list. In 2012, Isabel established SC4C at the Orange County School of the Arts. Its mission is to raise funds to support Orangewood Children’s Foundation while raising awareness about the needs of at-risk youth in our community. School club members collect spare change throughout the academic year at their homes. Collection bottles are made by students using empty water bottles that feature a custom label and coin slot. SC4C hopes to grow to other High Schools in Orange County in Fall 2013.

We hope you've been collecting coins because SC4C bottles are due at the end of this month! There are two collection dates...

1. Thursday, April 23: Meet Izzy Bellino and Katie Minerman behind the Senior Wall near the tech building at LUNCH to turn in your bottle.

2. Wednesday, April 29: LAST-CALL DESSERT PARTY! Come to room 403 at Lunch to turn in your bottle and celebrate with a free dessert :)

Hey everyone!

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to give thanks to our loved ones and for our fortunate lives. Many children are not as lucky and I wanted to thank YOU for collecting coins to help end the cycle of child abuse and homelessness in our community. Feel free to pass your collection bottle around the thanksgiving table tomorrow because we are "Kids Collecting Coins for Kids." Happy Turkey Day :)
