When I started this business, I knew in my heart it was never just going to be about bread.
Yes, the bread matters. The recipes, the time, the love poured into every loaf. Those things are special. But even more than that, I believe God can use simple things to bring people together, remind them they are seen, and create space for connection.
I wanted to share a little more of the heart behind this business.
My mom has a prayer room where she spends time seeking the Lord, and in that space she has prayed over our family and even found meaning in our names. The word she felt the Lord put over my name was reconciliation.
And looking back, I can’t help but see how deeply that aligns with what God has been doing in my heart.
Reconciliation is not always easy. It requires humility, forgiveness, surrender, and a willingness to look beyond the hurt. I am walking through my own season of learning this right now, learning how to love through broken relationships, extend grace, and allow God to heal places that only He can heal.
The truth is, every single person carries some kind of brokenness. Some wounds are visible, and some are hidden deep. And often, hurt people hurt people, not because they are beyond love, but because they are carrying pain they haven’t surrendered yet.
What if we started looking at people through the lens of compassion instead of just the lens of what they’ve done to us? What if we remembered that we are all people in need of the same grace?
God calls us to love others because He first loved us. He calls us to forgive, to seek peace, and to let Him transform our hearts.
My prayer is that through this space, through bread, conversations, and community that hearts would be softened and people would be reminded that they are loved by a God who restores.
“Break our hearts for what breaks Yours.”
Lord, open our eyes to see people the way You see them. Help us recognize the hurt underneath the hurt. Teach us to love with patience, forgive with humility, and surrender the things we cannot fix on our own. Bring healing to broken relationships, restore what has been lost, and make us vessels of Your love and grace. Let our hearts become more like Yours. Amen.
