First, please allow me to editorialize for a second: WOOOOOOOOOOO!
That out of the way, I’m so happy to announce that is BACK, and this summer, they’re going to be serving out of my kitchen on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays from 5p-8p.
If you’re in SLO and have somehow never heard of Ebony, first of all, lol, come on, man. What are you even doing with yourself? (There is no second of all.)
Ebony has long been one of the pioneering spots in the SLO culinary scene as both the first Ethiopian restaurant and one of the first that’s 100% vegan and gluten free. Along with , they were also one of the first to make the leap from popup to permanent, serving the most incredible food the whole time.
On top of that, Feben, Helen, and Martha are just the coolest, kindest people. When I started toying around with the idea of Salty Bagel, Feben was one of the first people I turned to for advice, and she’s given me so much guidance and support since then. Were it not for Ebony, I don’t think there would have been a Salty Bagel.
So while they build out a new space (a local cultural institution that rhymes with SLO Museum of Sharts bought the building they were previously in and kicked out all the small businesses), it’s a delicious privilege to welcome them into mine.
My kitchen is located at 153 Cross Street in SLO, which is behind Trader Joe’s. (I call it the TraJo District.) (No one else does.) They’ll be serving Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays from 5-8. (Salty Bagel will still be operating at our usual times and in our usual markets.) Please park in the street if you can, and if you can’t, don’t be k***s to our neighbors.
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!
