Something about people's ability to conceptualize an idea in their mind and be able to bring that thought to life has always astonished me. Being able to share with others the imagery that exist within my head is such a marvelously taxing and remarkably rewarding experience. The only other thing in this world that never fails to awe and inspire me is nature.

Trying to pick my favorite Winnie the Pooh quote has proven to be a most difficult task. Seriously, who knew this silly little bear had so much insight!?

I absolutely loved working on this custom cake! New techniques were used, skills were put to the test, many lessons were learned, but most importantly fun was had.

The beauty is in the details. I am constantly trying to push myself by learning new techniques. These little butterflies, although beautiful, were a pain in my ass to figure out. I kept breaking the wings, bodies wouldn't stay together and how do you make microscopic antenna!? Learning something new can be frustrating and a bit disheartening but when you finally figure it out, it's pure bliss.

This butterfly beauty was inspired by a recent visit to one of California's coastal trails. I was simply hiking a spot that I have been in love with for years now. However, this time, I was lucky enough to find myself surrounded by numerous monarch butterflies. It was such a magical moment as these butterflies accompanied me on my hike. It's a moment that I will always cherish.
