I've been wanting to make this cake for over two years, so for my last Saturday at the fabulous Sur La Table, and the epic end of a years and start of a new I've finally done it!

Some tips for cake baking, that have worked me wonders this week :)

Out of CAKE FLOUR?
For 1 cup cake flour-
substitute one cup regular flour minus 2TBS
& replace the 2 TBS with corn starch.

Low on BAKING POWDER:
for every 1 tsp baking powder-
substitute 1/4 tsp baking soda
& 5/8 tsp cream of tartar
(any baking powder you might have left can be used instead of the cream of tartar)

-& a Jordan-made dark chocolate Bailey's frosting
