The creation of The Sweets Fairies…
Chef Brenda Mora (owner) was brought up in a family of four, as a little girl she enjoyed the delicious art of “Mud pies” and “Mystery leave soups”. As a young lady she dabbled in many interests such as expressing her love for the earth and studied geology and the passion for freedom and learned to fly, still she always knew her true calling was to make people
“smile” but in a special way then most. Using one of the oldest arts since human kind, what created our very own social groups in primitive times… cooking. “My greatest ambition is to spread my love for life and share my art with the world, with every spoonful”. Chef Brenda Mora studied the culinary arts in the Kitchen Academy in Hollywood, CA, shortly after she began her adventure into the professional culinary world. She started in a fishing lodge in Sitka, Alaska were she unlocked her art for making yummy desserts for the lodging guest, then she continued her steep climb into her culinary success, where she worked for SBE’s Katsuya and The Abbey. She was recruited and requested by many to take up baking projects, her baking gift became “word on the street”. “My biggest reward is to see my clients face light up with happiness and disbelief when they see my final product, no cake is ever the same I create specifically for the client implementing their interests and style”. This was her fuel and she knew there was something to be done of it. She started by taking special orders and her sister Linda Mora (co-owner) would help. Linda Mora prior artist and a thinking Anthropologist, brought her creativity and flavor into the mixing bowl and together the two sisters created “The Sweets Fairies” with one simple and joyful mission to spread sweets filled with happiness to all no matter what the request is: dietary, allergen, sinfully sweet, or out of this world…they make your dream cake come true.
