Longtime surfer/shaper has cemented his place as one of San Diego’s most talented and respected custom board builders over the course of the past 4-5 decades.
He started doing ding repair at the age of 13, and shaped his first board during the summer of 1971.
Stu Kenson has cultivated a dedicated, worldwide following and is know for his performance shortboards, big wave guns, longboards and various other alternative board designs (single, twin fish, winzer and mid-length board).
The one of the specific realms in which Stu has set himself apart from the pack is Twinzers.
It’s been an honor to work with Stu to develop his Twinzer templates… now for the better part of the last decade.
The twins are a well balanced upright performance template that work well as stand alone twins in a range of boards and conditions.
The canards come from Stu’s work with Wil Jobson and function to idealize water flow for the twins, which are the main drivers for Twinzer setups.
Think of TWINZERS as the functional happy, medium between twins, and quads with the looseness and skatiness of twins and the drive and bite commonly associated with quads.
