This isn’t your average wellness page. I talk about nutrient-dense living, art, and camels—sometimes all at once.
I wanted to make healthy living less crunchy, more fun and creative and bring some joy to the world.
To all my new followers and my stalwarts, here’s the cheat sheet version of who I am and how I got here:
📚 I hold a degree in Holistic Health.
🇲🇽 I spent four years lecturing at Mexican cancer clinics about nutrient-dense living—while dodging Tijuana cops and smuggling juicers across the border. (Long story. Ask me sometime.)
🐫 I’m a camel handler by trade. Yes, camels.
🌍 I co-owned an expedition company with a Tuareg in the Sahara. My whole world once revolved around sand, camels, and nomads. I still see a bowl of stars when I close my eyes.
📰 I wanted to be a war photographer. Lived in a war zone for a year. Came out allergic to mainstream news.
💍 Been married to my sweetheart for 25 years. He’s 13 years younger. He’s former military.
🐶 No kids. Two dogs, a chihuahua and a terrier. Officially D***s and not mad about it.
🥩 Mostly animal-based/keto diet with fermented sidekicks. I test my data/chemistry daily for ketosis. My husband Nik and I are two of the founders of the modern day Paleo food movement starting in 2009.
🇪🇸 I’m fluent in Spanish.
💪 I work out at the YMCA. It’s charmingly unpretentious.
🎨 I’ve been a mixed media artist for 15 years under the name Lee Selman
🌵 Born in New Mexico—raised on adobe walls, flamenco music, and sunsets so vivid they make your heart ache. Now rooted in California (with a camel-fueled detour through the Midwest).
If you’ve ever wondered why my zig when others zag, or why I might talk about gut health and camel saddles and art in the same breath… now you know.
Pull up a chair. You’re in good company. 💛
