After much thought and prayer, I’ve decided to officially close my lawn service after 9 years.

This wasn’t an easy decision. Over nearly a decade, this business became far more than mowing lawns. Most of my customers have been with me from the very beginning, and unlike many in this line of work, I didn’t bounce from customer to customer or lose many along the way. That loyalty meant everything to me.

I’m deeply grateful not only for the business relationships, but for the friendships that came with them. Many of you trusted me with your property year after year, welcomed me into your lives, and treated me with kindness and respect. I never took that for granted.

Thank you for supporting my small business, for your patience, your conversations, and your trust over the years. I truly appreciate every one of you and will always be thankful for the opportunity to serve you.

This chapter is closing, but the gratitude I have will last far longer than the business itself.

Figure I’d share for those that have asked as I’ll not be available in a few weeks.

Ledderhose disease is a rare disorder. About 200k people get it in the US. Basically the muscle that runs from the ball of your foot to the heel tears and then a fibrous knot forms. Since it’s in the arch area of the foot it feels like a pebble is between the arch and your shoe. They can grow large at times. Every few years I have mine treated with injections into the knots for the pain as I walk around with it most of the time. Some injections help with the pain as well as to shrink the nodules. Since it’s what I consider slow season I choose to treat mine during this time of the year so I’ll be ready for next season/year. They may disappear with treatment for a few years or they may return. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Ledderhose disease is what happens to your feet. It’s related to dupuytrens contracture which occurs in the hands of which I also have. The muscles in the hands tear and fibrous nodules/knots form. It may also cause the fingers to contract to where they don’t remain extended out. It’s not as rare to have this in your hands. Im able to use my hands a lot more but will eventually have to seek treatment one day for that as well.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace

I couldn’t add pics to the previous post along with their webpage but this is what you do when you volunteer at Sleep in Heavenly Peace. They have everything laid out with all of the supplies and you sand the wood down and make bed frames/slats, bed rails etc for kids that need beds.

Let me tell you about this place called Sleep in Heavenly Peace. It’s a nonprofit in SA that builds beds for kids without beds. They have a monthly community build where you can donate less than 3 hours of your Saturday morning/afternoon. You can donate money if you’d like but you can also go and build a bed and see the tangible results and just know that you helped make a bed for some children that have been without a bed.

Today I went for my second build as I asked my CBC church men’s group to volunteer and today’s morning shift built a total of 35 beds for children. All they need is for you to volunteer and they supply everything. A lot of people take their children/family or school and employee groups to participate.

Please follow their webpage and sign up for their November community build when it’s announced. Who knows, there may be donuts waiting for you like I brought today for everyone.

It’s close to most all of my customers as it’s behind the NEISD bus barn at the Wetmore/Blanco road intersection.

My life was forever changed this day. I remember the phone call to turn on the news and the watching the events unfold all day long. I had to go to work and it turned out to be a slow day at the dealership filled with confusion and it angered me. What could I do? Well I ended up joining the Army at the age of 30 years old and ended up in Iraq some time later.

Sweaty hands slipped through the muffler guard of the backpack blower today and yes it burns for now. Probably blisters tonight so it will be time for some Vitacilina which works so well.
