Some custom creations from February!💘

I started a new position at my full time job last month (I have been baking/cake decorating/pastry making for the past 10 years of my work experience!). I moved into a catering coordinator roll so things have changed a little bit for me which included my schedule. My availability to take orders for my side business has become more limited due to this part of the year being the busiest with events at the college I work for. I was able to make time for a few orders last month and I’m hoping once I get my bearings in line I can open up my availability to take more orders again 🎂

I decided this year I wanted to start doing a monthly recap post so here goes my first one👩🏼‍🍳

2026 is so far so good! I had 5 custom creations in January. The month started with a birthday cake for an axolotl/monster truck lover (I didn’t even know what an axolotl was until I made the cake 😂). This cake was for a customer I’ve known for a few years now. I’ve been making cakes for her daughters’ birthdays the past 4 years and it feels special to be a part of the celebration! Next up I had a big cupcake order for a celebration of life. I love that sweet treats can bring a moment of happiness to any event. My next orders were fun themes: Barbie mermaid, itsy bitsy spider and the month finished off with a second rodeo birthday.

In between orders I experimented in the test kitchen creating new gourmet cookie recipes and came up with a delicious, limited time only Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake cookie. I’m offering some other treats as well for Valentine’s Day and have a few more custom creations coming up this February. I love to take traditional flavors and make them into something fun and new! Here is my take on chocolate strawberry cheesecake in gourmet cookie form: strawberry cookie filled with semi-sweet and dark chocolate chips, stuffed with strawberry cream cheese and dipped in a dark chocolate base🍓🍫 Offering this special flavor until Valentine’s day (along with many other goodies) available in both sizes (5 oz and 2.5 oz) then who knows what I’ll come up with next. So get it while you can for your Valentine’s Day crush (self included)! 💘

The itsy-bitsy spider went up the water spout cake! Made with fondant decor (some pieces combined with CMC powder) 🌞🌧️ in funfetti flavor🎂 (an “in the making” shot and inspo photo at the end). What a fun cake to make!
