Cinnamon Streusel coffee cake! Made with a mixture of Sonora White, an heirloom wheat, and khorasan, an ancient grain, this coffee cake is everything it should be. It’s buttery with a tender crumb and delicious streusel but has the healthfulness of whole grain.

The cake itself is sweetened with honey, and while the streusel is made with sugar and molasses, this is a not-too-sweet treat. The streusel is layered through the cake as well as on top and features pecans for that extra crunch (you can leave them out though if you’re not a fan).

This cakes comes in a foil pan so you can pop it in the oven for a few minutes and serve it warm…yum!

This is the perfect breakfast treat when hosting family and friends as it can easily be cut into 9-12 pieces. Or keep it all for yourself…I won’t tell. 😋

OK, as promised, here is my June schedule. Ordering for the month of June is now open.

Of special note for June, I will be at Walk in the Woods here in St. Germain this year, so come see me there on June 13.

Also on tap for June, my self-serve bakery stand will be opening, providing breads and treats during weekend hours. More to come on that.

June is already promising to be a great month...make it even better with delicious bakery made with freshly milled whole grain heritage wheats and ancients grains!

My mill and my mixers are sad! They’ve been idle for way long. But the hiatus is almost over as this will be the last week of the season for full time at my job. As of June 1, I’ll be back to my 4-day work week, making time for baking once again.

The first bakery pickup day in June is open and ready for ordering. A full June schedule and menu will be posted soon.

New item…just in time for Mother’s Day! Cinnamon Streusel Coffee Cake!!

This delicious old-fashioned coffee cake is made extra special with a blend of whole grain Sonora White (a heritage wheat) and khorasan (an ancient grain), milled right before baking for amazing taste and outstanding nutrition. Take all that yumminess and add a layer of butter and cinnamon and top with crunchy streusel, and you have the perfect addition to any Mother’s Day brunch.

The coffee cake comes in a foil pan ready to warm in the oven before serving, because who doesn’t love warm gooey cake alongside a nice cup of coffee!

This wonderful addition to the menu is available to order for pickup this Friday. Place your order by 6 pm Wednesday.

The next bakery pickup day is this Friday, May 1. Ordering is open until Wednesday evening so get your orders in soon.

Due to my regular job requiring me to work full time for the busy spring season, baking will be limited for the month of May. I will still have bake days, but I won’t be able to offer as many products, especially breads, as usual due to the time these items take to make. I will return to a normal baking schedule starting June 5.

If you haven’t tried pita flatbread made with fresh milled flour, you are missing out! Not only are these pitas the freshest you’ve ever tasted, but they are made with Emmer, an ancient grain.

Emmer is the second oldest wheat in the world, and since it was widely grown in the Middle East in ancient times, these pitas are probably the most authentic you’ll ever have.

This pitas contain very few ingredients (emmer, water, olive oil, yeast, salt, sugar) and are made simply. The perfect wrap for hummus and veggies or meats and cheeses.
