After careful consideration, I have decided to close my home bakery. Thank you so much for those who have supported me through this experiment and to everyone who has enjoyed something I baked.

So I am sorry for anyone who has wanted to purchase baked goods from me for the past few weeks. It has been a difficult time for my family. I had a very close family member get hospitalized in early June, and sorrowfully, he never recovered. He passed away a week ago. We have been with family for support as well as for the funeral, but we are heading back home tomorrow. There is a void we can never fill, but life goes on and so must we.

Bake days are resuming next week. I’ve posted next week so far, but I will be getting the rest of July open for ordering in the next day or two.

For upcoming events that I will be attending, mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 12, for the Twilight Market, and Saturday, September 19, for Colorama, both in St. Germain.

If you are interested in ordering, please click the link below to get to the ordering site. As always, thank you for your support!

Here I am doing my own little pop-up market in my front yard. Making the best of the cool, windy, and sometimes rainy day. I’ve got all the goods: breads, cookies, and biscotti. Stop out and see me…I’m here until 2 pm!

For those who may have looked for me at Walk in the Woods, I apologize for not being there. This morning I had what can only be described as a mental breakdown. There was despair, disbelief, and tears…so yeah, definitely a mental breakdown. Caused by stress and lack of both calories and sleep, I realized at 7 am this morning that I was just not going to be ready for today’s event. I was already a half hour late for my set-up time, and I still had baked items needing to be packaged, labels that still needed printing, and a car that was only partially loaded. These events take a lot of prep work, and the baking is only part of it.

In addition to the normal stress of it all, I have a close family member currently in the hospital and in very serious condition. My rock, my super supportive husband, who makes sure I sleep and eat, keeps the dishwasher running nonstop on bake days, and helps me load my car and set up my events, has been out of town with his family supporting them through this medical crisis. Turns out I’m not as independent as I like to think I am. It all became too much, and this morning it came to a screaming halt.

I am really sorry that I missed out on meeting new people, sharing my passion for nutrition and love of baking, and enjoying what was seemingly the nicest weather this spring.

But after a good breakfast (thanks mom & dad) and a much needed nap, I am currently tackling the disaster that is my kitchen and wondering what on earth I am going to do with all these baked goods. And so I’ve decided to hold my own little market tomorrow in my front yard. If you’re in the area, I am just off Hwy 70 right in town in St. Germain. Please stop by. I have a variety of breads, cookies, biscotti, and coffee cake. All was baked fresh yesterday (and some technically today during the wee hours of the morning). I hope you can stop by.
