REAL TALK FROM MY POV… 🥧💔
I’m going to be Honest because this really hit me hard.
When you place an order for homemade pies or any items I do, I spend my time, money, ingredients, and energy making that order specifically for you. So when you choose a delivery/pickup time and then don’t show up, don’t answer calls, and don’t respond to messages about the order, it doesn’t just mean you missed a pie—it means I lost Money and Valuable Time.
This past weekend really hurt.
Saturday: 4 pies — $60 order — customer never showed up.
Sunday: 6 pies — $105 order — another order I was left waiting on. 3 of those Pies were my Meringue - Coconut and Lemon...Time Factor From Start to Finish, Including Cool Time Is 3 to 4 hours on Just 1 Meringue Pie
That’s $165 in pies that were made and prepared for customers who never showed.
In my 39 years of doing this, I have NEVER experienced anything like this. Nor have I ever asked for upfront payment or a deposit, or have had to Ban someone from ordering! And Honestly, moments like this make me want to say, “Why Am I Even Doing This Anymore?” 😔
I FULLY Understand that Things Happen. Life Happens. Emergencies Happen. But if you can’t make it, PLEASE Communicate with me. A simple phone call or message is all it takes. I would much rather know than sit there waiting, wondering, and losing money.
But I REFUSE to let Disappointment have the last word. ❤️
Instead of letting those pies go completely to waste, I turned my loss into someone else’s Blessing. I took the pies and made them into slices and gave them to shut-in elderly people and people experiencing homelessness.
And you know what? Seeing the Happiness those pies brought to someone’s face reminded me WHY I started doing this in the first place. 🥧❣️
So Yes, I’m Disappointed. Yes, I lost money. And Yes, it HURT Me Tremendously.
But if something that was meant to be a loss can still bring a little Happiness, Comfort, and Sweetness into somebody’s day, then maybe it wasn’t a complete loss after all.
Please RESPECT Small Businesses. Behind every order is a Real Person, Real Money, Real Time, and Real Hard Work and Dedication.
