Ooey Gooey Butter Bars just came out of the oven. They will be cool enough to go out the door at 5pm.
I have 4 pans (8×8) available.

I also have 4 dozen Red Velvet Brownies, 4 dozen Chocolate Crunch Brownies, 1 Banana Pudding, and 2 Pumpkin Rolls that will be available for curbside pickup as well. Same as above, comment to claim and message to set up pickup appointment time and to pay.

It's out of my control but it's alright

It might sound crazy but
I should say thank you
Cause now I know who I finally am
And I'm made from my homeplace

The weeks are coming to an end fast for our family farm. I'm torn between helping out physically with the work and packing and sorting and milking cows so they can do things they need to do before moving out of state, and hoping for closure for areas in my life; maybe some healing. But knowing the past couple months have nearly broken Get Baked and it is a most crucial time for my business, and with the Easter holiday, I should be doing nothing but baking and cooking and trying to bring an income in. Messages and paperwork have stacked up and even offers from people saying I can stop by and help out. I don't know if this makes sense, but the thought of organizing tasks and showing/telling, communicating how to help sounds more overwhelming than me simply just doing it. It's not that I'm shunning offers for help but I don't know how to accept it. Taking the help and deciding how to best let the help help me sounds incredibly draining.
In the next 30 days, a large majority of the things that made me who I am will be gone. It would be so easy to bury myself in my work at Get Baked and not deal with it. Working is how I cope. And man the coping I need to do 🫠. But my heart won't let me turn a blind eye to what is fast disappearing. I don't do well with change (even if it can be good change). So I guess all this to say to my OG customers, thank you for loving me and supporting me. To my newer customers the past year or so, thank for being willing to be patient with me and making me feel like I'm worth the wait. To those that are new customers, thank you for coming into my business and my life in the craziness and not being intimidated by everything I have going on and seeing that when I do get to you and your order, you get 100% of my heart in it.
I dread the next 30 days with everything in me, yet I'm trying so hard to see the light at the end of this tunnel of change and wondering what my new normal will be. So on May 1st, if I made it and I'm still baking cakes, it will be because each and every one of you.

She made these authentic Tamales at home and brought them for our lunch.
I have decided our next "slow" day, she'll be the teacher and I'll learn to make these.

When ordering Sugar Free, please keep in mind the price of sugar replacements. This is the brand I use. No ands, ifs, or buts. Like everything else, the quality of ingredients makes a difference in the taste, texture, etc. I have tried them all and this far exceeds other brands.
In a standard 8", 3 layer cake, the cost of total sugar substitute ALONE used is $39.57.
That blows my mind. Which is why I don't advertise SF or do SF very much. I've mastered a few SF deserts and if I have time and availability and you're willing to pay the price, message me your order and I'll try to take care of you.

Seems like just yesterday Abbey was riding on the axel beside me while we worked land and now she's driving them to school, literally 🥺🥲.
This year is especially bittersweet as these 2 tractors will be parked in garages (no, they aren't being sold at the farm auction nor are they for sale) and instead of working farm ground will be used for tilling the garden and upkeep. Thankful for the country roads and pastures and fields that brings these next generation farmers to the parking lot.

Spring is finally here and while it's rainy; Mountain View Country Market is full if cheery delicious desserts and goodies. Punch Bowl Cakes, Banana Puddings, Strawberry Shortcake Sliders and Cake Bowls, Banana & Banana Nut Breads wutg Cream Cheese Filling, Easter Eggs are back in stock, cookies, Brownies, and so much more. Eggs, meats, cheeses, fresh produce, dry goods, and local vendors.

Thought for the day:
How I wish the community as an entirety could always work:
First picture is a tray of local products I traded my baked goods for at Mountain View Country Market.
Rest of the pictures are dishes I've made from those ingredients.
The entrees y'all order from me are from local meats and veggies. I haven't used the squash yet, still narrowing ideas down. The sauce will go in Chili Beans, chicken, BBQ, and so much more. And the tomatoes and cucumbers will be going in pasta salad.
It's so imperative to shop local and invest in your community. Keep your money where you live as much as possible; and watch your family and community become healthier, happier, and more prosperous.
There are so many local farmers, bakers, small family owned businesses, locally owned restaurants, craft makers, photographer's, bee keepers, seamstresses, distilleries, etc, depending on us to invest in them so they can remain serving us.
Plus, you can taste the difference, literally. The quality of my ingredients is one of the main reasons I'm so confident in my baking and cooking.
A wise woman once told me you can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh**.
Don't complain about your community and lack of variety of establishments if you're not actively investing on the ones currently struggling to survive. :)

Sam is being a big helper today and would love for you to come give him a job.
