Our Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department recently had a tragic loss. As my brother was once a FF with HRFD and remained close with FF/EMT Morgan, we know this loss is an extremely tough one for his colleagues and our community. We also know how it feels with such a loss when it seems like the rest of the world and life begins to move forward, often long before many might be ready to. Today I dropped off some sourdough scones for HRFD from our family, hopefully a little comfort as they continue to mourn. His family, fire family, and friends remain in our thoughts. ❤️🖤

With Memorial Day approaching, we are reminded that each fold of a flag holds meaning. The final fold however, the one right before the flag is cradled and handed to a grieving family, says what words cannot.

We pause in silence for the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We honor their memory, their families, and the weight of every fold that tells their story.

We will never forget.
