My wife Tammy and I run a fundraiser annually for the Alzheimer's Assoc in support of my mom, Marguerite McKenna. Our last event was on May 9th 2015 at the Rockland Ice Rink at 599 Summer St, Rockland MA. My mom has Alzheimer's and is now on hospice care. She is in the "End" Stage of Alzheimer's and has been fighting Alzheimer's
for the last twelve years. Throughout this time my family has participated in many Alzheimer's fundraisers and events. We have participated in walks for Alzheimer's, ran bake sales, and made t-shirts, all to help find a cure. However, as a family, we feel the need to make a more substantial contribution. We want to make a much more substantial contribution this year in her honor. She has always loved hockey. She even helped start up a town hockey many years ago in Bellingham MA, for myself and my three brothers. With this in mind we believe that a hockey related fundraiser event would be something she would appreciate. This past Winter we had the First Marguerite McKenna Annual Hockey Event. It was on May 9, 2015. John Cashman, was kind enough to allow us to have the event at The Rockland Ice Arena, Rockland MA. Our event will consisted of various activities for everyone to enjoy. There was a hockey game, a skills competition. We will also have raffles, music, food and a 50-50 drawing. If you find it in your heart, I hope you might consider donating or participating.
