Our Kids Cake Decorating Contest has officially come to an end, and our winner, 8-year-old Sophia, has collected her prize! 🥳🎂

Sophia designed a beautiful sea-themed cake complete with wavy water, a sea turtle, seaweed, and—my favorite little touch—adorable music notes floating through the air! 🌊🐢🎶 I absolutely loved seeing her creativity come to life!

A HUGE thank you to every kiddo who entered the contest! 🩷 It was so much fun seeing all of your ideas, creativity, and personalities shine through your cake designs. You made choosing a winner incredibly difficult!

And one more BIG congratulations to Sophia! 🎉 Your beautiful design and creativity earned you this one, and I hope you had just as much fun creating your cake as we did seeing it come to life! 🩷🎂✨

Who knew 1st grade was providing me with such valuable career training?!😍❤️

All those years of rolling, shaping, squishing, and making tiny little creations were just preparing me for a future of sitting at my kitchen table making teeny tiny fondant details.

Meanwhile, I’m still patiently waiting for the day I need to find the hypotenuse. 📐

Now that I have a 4-year-old, I’m realizing I may need to take her Play-Doh time a little more seriously. We’ve got a skill set to hone!!!

You never know when those Play-Doh skills might become a career. 🩷🎂

✨ And yes… fondant is basically just edible Play-Doh. ✨

A cake is a treat… but it’s also so much more. 🩷

It gets brought into some of the happiest, hardest, funniest, and most meaningful moments of our lives.

It can celebrate a new beginning, honor an ending, show someone how loved they are, or simply make an ordinary day feel a little more special.

That’s one of my favorite things about making cakes. I may be making the cake, but you’re giving it a story.

Because sometimes it’s not really about the cake at all.

It’s about turning little moments into core memories 🩷✨
