A Little Winter Poetry!
Poetry Walk inspired my students and I to have a little fun with wintry words. Here is the result:

Little Snowman

I am a little snowman, small and wide,

Behind tall piles of snow I hide.

With a carrot nose and hat made of felt,

Come play with me before I melt!

-J.S. Jenson, from Sharp Bites and Other Pesky Poems

As I am finishing up Jen's summer adventure tale...I will soon release a Middle Grade Poetry Book with lots to tickle your funny bone. Here is a small sample:

Pickle Roll

Once I lost a pickle,
It fell onto the floor,
It twirled over my foot,
And headed for the door!

I have not seen it for a week,
I fear it may be lost!
Until I found a fuzzy trail
Of pickle-colored moss.

Maybe today I’ll spy it,
Hiding in a dish,
Waiting to come home to me,
Knowing it was missed!
