Exciting news! Last year's markets went so well that I decided to sign up for almost every single Hudson Farmers Market on CARMICHAEL in the 2026 season!

Come grab chocolate or cinnamon Babka, Challah and Hamentaschen starting this Saturday, May 2nd from 8 to noon!

Don't worry if you can't make it out for the opening weekend. I'll be there May 2nd, 9th, 16th and 30th with lots more dates throughout the summer.

I can't wait to see you all there!

If you haven't used Challah to make French toast then you are seriously missing out.

The rich, slightly sweet and eggy bread lends itself perfectly to french toast or bread pudding, even when it's a couple of days past its prime.

Tonight I made breakfast for dinner.

Cardamom and clove Challah french toast with a decadent orange infused maple butter sauce.

Pick up your Challah at the Hudson Farmers market starting May 2nd!

I might be biased, but I think Babka is the prettiest bread there is 😍

Currently I'm experimenting with an increased chocolate to bread ratio and I am not at all disappointed with the results.

Hey folks!

It's been a quiet winter here. I decided to take the season to get life sorted and take a much needed rest. Or, try to at least.

I've also been working on some recipe research now that we are headed back into market season. Most recently I fine tuned my Challah recipe with a sesame loaf and these adorable mini Challah loaves. Perfectly sized for sandwiches or snacks. These babies were snatched up and eaten before they were even cooled!

Also in the works is my newest Babka flavor:

Blueberry!

An incredibly tender bread ladened with thick ribbons of sweet blueberry filling and topped with a perfectly salty sweet struesel. The kind you'd find on top of your favorite blueberry pie or muffin. Perfect for the (hopefully soon) upcoming warmer weather.

Today was my final market of the summer/fall season. This year was my first experience selling at a large market and I just want to say a tremendous thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by the booth and support my little business. Baking for you all is a massive effort but it is also a massive passion and to see the joy it brings makes it all worth it. While Babka translates to "Little Grandma" in Yiddish, my goal has always been to spread the same grandama-like happiness, comfort and warmth that I have experienced from eating these treats throughout my life. Many of you talked about how you hadn't seen Babka or Challah in years and can't find it anywhere locally. Lots of you brought it home to share with others Some of you were kind enough to even share memories or traditions of your own with me.

Is it bread? Is it cake? I'm not sure, but I do know that these little swirled loaves have been a treat in more ways than one.
