🍋 when life gives you over fermented dough, make focaccia! 🍋

Overnight my sourdough grew like wild! There was no way to shape it into loaves so I made the quick decision to make a cheddar, garlic and chive focaccia to accompany our fresh eggs for breakfast.

It was a very special little boys 5th birthday. He special requested firefighters and cheesecake.
He got an Oreo cheesecake topped with chocolate ganache and whipped cream!
A little extra treat for guests was a chocolate chip cookie cake with vanilla buttercream frosting naturally colored!

Spiced cheesecake with a graham cracker crust, topped with fried apples, roasted pecans, and salted caramel.

My healing journey post surgery has had a lot of ups and downs so while I didn’t advertise holiday cakes for thanksgiving much, I am still here, just really focusing on my own healing and family. After such a heavy week for our country, I spent today worshiping with our church family, soaking in the Word at home, finishing family farm chores and filling the rest of the day in the kitchen. Baking is one of my favorite ways to process, pray, and serve—so I practiced this little cookie cake: snickerdoodle with espresso buttercream, vanilla buttercream, and some practice hand-piped pink and orange pumpkins. The neighbors were happy taste-testers and gave it rave reviews!

Even in the hard weeks, I’m reminded of the unity we share in Christ and the love He calls us to show. Life here at home feels slow and simple, but creating and sharing these treats is one small way I can spread that love right where He’s planted me.
