🎉 We have some exciting news! 🎉

Today we found out that For the Love of Flour has made it into the Top 5 for Best Bakery in Richmond! 🧁🍰🥧

When I started this journey, I never imagined how much support this little bakery would receive from our community. Running a small business can be challenging, and there are certainly days when the long hours and hard work feel overwhelming. But it's customers like you who make every early morning, late night, and busy weekend worth it.

I am incredibly grateful for every order, every visit, every share, every recommendation, and every kind word you've given us along the way. Your support has helped turn a dream into something truly special.

Voting for the winner begins July 15th🎉🎉🎉, and I'll be sure to share the details when it's time. For now, I just wanted to say thank you. Being recognized as one of Richmond's Top 5 bakeries is already an honor, and it's because of all of you.

A little summer update from For the Love of Flour ☀️

As many of you know, our bakery location isn't exactly the easiest spot to stumble across, and summer tends to be a much slower season as everyone is busy with vacations, pool days, parties, and family activities.

After watching the numbers closely, we've realized that for more than 3 weeks, we haven't had a single walk-in customer come through the door after 2:00 PM on Saturdays.

At the same time, we've stayed incredibly busy behind the scenes with custom orders, celebration cakes, and wedding season in full swing. Making a small adjustment to our summer schedule will allow us to focus on those orders, get deliveries out earlier, and give my staff more time to spend with their families on the weekends.

Starting this week, we'll be making a few changes to our summer hours:

🍰 Friday: No changes! We'll continue to be open from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM.
🍰 Saturday: We'll be open from 10:00AM–2:00 PM.

I'd also love to expand our pre-order offerings on the website so you can still get your favorite treats for weekend breakfasts, cookouts, pool parties, family gatherings, and summer celebrations.

What items would you like to see available for pre-order pickup?

We don't typically jump on trends around here, but the dot cake trend seemed like way too much fun to ignore! 🎂✨

I asked what you all thought, and the response was clear—you wanted it to happen. So here it is!

We'll have a limited number of dot cakes available Friday and Saturday. The flavor I've made so far is strawberry, and I have to admit, they're pretty adorable.

As always, thank you for encouraging me to have a little fun in the kitchen and try something new. Let me know if you'd like to see additional flavors!

We don't usually chase trends around here—we tend to stick with classic, from-scratch desserts—but this one has definitely caught my attention.

Thank you all so much for your patience with our delayed opening this morning! ❤️

This morning was extra special, as I got to spend some time celebrating my son's last day of 8th grade and his academic achievements. As a small business owner and mom, moments like these mean the world to me, and I'm so grateful for your support and understanding. 🥰

The ovens have been busy, and we have warm buttermilk blueberry muffins that just came out of the oven, with fresh blueberry and blackberry galettes coming out of the oven shortly. 🫐🧁
