Happy Holidays! Thank you for your support this year as I grew my baking business. It has been a time of learning and friendship for me.
I will be baking on December 30, 31 and again on January 2 and 3 and welcome orders for your New Year's celebration.

I am taking a two-week break and will be back with new offerings along with my regular menu on January 17th.

Wishing you all happiness and prosperity in the coming year and encourage all of us to be mindful of our neighbors near and far in need.

The holidays are upon us, and I have openings next week, December 19 through December 22nd!
How about French toast made with my raisin Challah? Or soft dinner rolls to enhance your holiday supper? My sourdough is the perfect accompaniment for winter soups and my orange or gingerbread loaf cakes make a delicious ending to any meal!

I made a Zucchini Loaf and Cinnamon Buns with Pecans this afternoon. The Zucchini loaf is made with sourdough starter, which you can't taste, but makes the cake moist and dense. Lots of flavors in it: vanilla, nutmeg, lemon zest, lemon oil, walnuts and, of course, shredded Zucchini!
I have the 13, 14, and 15 open for orders!

Sometimes I'm blown away by the beauty and smell of the loaf cakes I made. Look at these two cakes, Banana and Carrot. The cakes are lovely, the crust, shiny, crispy and caramelized...the color, variegated bronze with bits of carrot and banana visible. I hate to frost them! YUM!

Mostly Gluten Free Sourdough Crackers
I'm experimenting with Gluten Free crackers and have started with a recipe that is mostly Gluten free. I used King Arthur Gluten Free flour in the recipe, but my sourdough starter is made with King Arthur AP flour. There is 1/2 cup of AP flour in the starter, which works out to be 1/2 Tablespoon of AP flour in each cracker...hence "mostly" Gluten free. I have a recipe for Gluten free sourdough starter but am hesitant to go through the process of making it unless I have the business to support it.

My Latest Cracker...Spelt with Seeds. Theses crackers are for folks who can't tolerate wheat but may be okay with an ancient grain. The crackers are 3 1/2 inches square and are designed for shipping. I'll start test mailing them soon. I can make any flavors in this shape.
