The Boardwalk Baker is bringing you a night designed for dressing up, going out, having a little fun, and doing some good while we’re at it.

We’re planning an unforgettable evening filled with good food, good drinks, music, costumes, and a few surprises, all while supporting an organization that does incredibly meaningful work for individuals and families in our community.

Today, my shoes broke in the kitchen.

And somehow, it felt like more than a pair of shoes.

I’ve had them for seven years.

They’ve stood through some of the longest days of my life. Walked into rooms I was terrified to enter. Carried me through dreams that worked out and plans that completely fell apart. They’ve been there for early mornings, late nights, big wins, quiet disappointments, starting over, figuring it out, and becoming.

They’ve walked through versions of me that don’t even exist anymore.

And maybe that’s why it felt a little emotional when they finally gave out today.

Because sometimes we don’t realize how far we’ve come until something that’s been with us since the beginning can’t make the journey any farther.

There’s something beautiful about wearing something all the way out.

About being able to look at the miles behind you and say, “We really did some things, didn’t we?”

Seven years ago, I couldn’t have imagined everywhere these shoes would take me.

And I think that’s a lot like life.

You just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Through the good days. The hard days. The days you’re sure you can’t do another one.

And then one day, you look back and realize you walked yourself into a life you once couldn’t even see from where you were standing.

Here’s to the things that carried us through old seasons…

and knowing when it’s time for a new pair of shoes. 🤍
