My name is Amanda Sykes, I am the creator of It's A Small World Cake Toppers. The idea for this business all started last year as my husband, Drew and I were planning for our wedding in September 2014. Early on in the planning stages, I began on a search for our own wedding cake toppers. I was surprised that the options I saw out there were either lacking in personalization or were just listed at
a crazy, unrealistically high price. As a recent bride, I understand how expensive each and every little thing you put toward your wedding can be and the need for finding affordable options yet still wanting to find something you can be happy with. Like many brides out there, I was a bride on a budget but with a very detailed mindset who wanted something super cute to put on top of our cake. I've always been creative and crafty, so naturally I decided to put my DIY skills to use and made our own cake toppers simply with blank wooden peg dolls and some paint. The materials were simple and easy for me to obtain. As finished products they were cute, tiny versions of us, all dressed up in wedding attire. They caught some positive attention from attendants at our wedding, so at the encouragement of others I decided to start making some sets for select friends and family to start building up a portfolio and here we are!
