I have not been making anything! Instead we’ve been planning the final steps on the house and setting up the new garden. Here is a couple brief updates-

1. Caramel is still pregnant 😳

2. We are waiting to see what vegetables the horses left us from their garden break in, but we are hoping for okra, onions and corn soon. They killed everything else.

3. I’m making persimmon soap this week. My cousin showed me an article about it and apparently it helps with nonenal (old people) smell.

4. Hot chicks- the last of my chicken babies got too hot and I had to give a few baths for pasty butt. Fun.

Summer is here! We whipped up some cake pops for a kids event this weekend so we made sure to keep out the synthetic dyes. I love Sugar Art’s new natural gel food coloring line and Better Goods sprinkles.

Did Caramel have her baby yet? No, and we’re pretty sure she’s 11 months pregnant. But our C cow just had a calf!

A lot of the sunflowers Rob planted made it despite the lack of rain. You are welcome to pull off the road and pick yourself some! It’s the corner of CR 237 and NE 117th Terrace in Raiford.

I also have a ton of free range eggs for $3/dozen. Eat them, hatch them, let your kids play the egg toss game (very messy option) they are unwashed and unrefrigerated between 1-4 days old. I can meet in Raiford, Lake Butler or Starke.

We’ve been saying for months that this heifer would have her calf any day now but we actually think she must be close now. She’s so round she looks AI. This is Caramel, who was once a bottle calf because her mom didn’t take care of her. She’s turned out to be a great mom many times and we can’t wait to show off baby pics. Please be twins 🤞

This new bantam Cochin has the prettiest yellow eyelashes! Unfortunately her hatchmates love pecking at her beautiful eyes so we had to split the brooder and put them in chicken jail until they kick that habit.

I’ve had several orders for goodies in March and April but these were my favorite to make! The spring market I had on the books for the end of the month got canceled, so I’m feeling a bit directionless. But I am still growing, baking and decorating!

I am not a patchouli person, but I had several requests during the holidays so I begrudgingly made a batch and I think it’s my new favorite.

It’s a vegan bar using macerated cucumber instead of my typical goat milk, turmeric (grown by our friends at Grassy Springs) and patchouli essential oil. I took 5 bars to my last market and sold out super fast so I need to get busy soaping!

Pretty easy to tell the new layer in the group! Their tiny fairy eggs are always such a nice surprise. Our bantam Cochins are laying now too so by summer we will be offering hatching eggs and chicks.
