When invited me to vend at Park Avenue Day 2024, I was uncertain. I didn't know the neighbourhood yet and I was still very new to vending. I gave her a very hesitant "yes," and my courage was rewarded with torrential downpour the day of the market. I thought no one would come and I'd be stuck with all these cookies and no freezer space.
To my huge surprise, I sold out that day. I had people trudging through the rain to come find me. I had people telling me that they'd followed me for years and were so excited to get to try my cookies for the first time!
So the next year I joined again. It was a beautiful day in May. It was warm and sunny and again, I sold out in a few hours. Again, I met so many fans and neighbours who had heard about me. I met so many people from the who saw my cookies the previous year and wanted me back. I felt so loved and so accepted into this community.
This year, I was ready. I made double the amount of product and lowered my prices to make things more accessible. I upgraded my packaging and built new display stands! And for the third year in a row, Park Avenue Day delivered.
This market has become my favourite one every single year. The amount of support I get is... Unbelievable. My doormen come visit me on their lunch breaks. My best friends from all over NYC surprise me with cold drinks and snacks. My neighbours stop by to say hi. I have former clients that come down every year and followers that tell me they were looking for me. I'm still speechless sometimes.
So anyway, all this to say THANK. YOU. Thank you to and for not just accepting me into the community, but for holding my hands and pulling me in themselves. To say that I feel "welcomed" is a gross understatement.
Thank you to everyone who came out and bought something, chatted with me, took a free sample, snapped some pictures, and kept me company. I am already excited for the next one. I am so grateful and so loved. Thank you all!!!!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
