Posting today to inform you that Dominion Power has scheduled a power outage here at the shop tomorrow (Thursday) and thus Sweet Rose Bakeshop will be closed all day! We will resume normal hours on Friday, 8am - 5pm. Sorry for the inconvenience!

As of recently, Egg prices have jumped quite dramatically due to an outbreak of bird flu here in the United States. Morning Morning Loudoun County! It's a chilly morning this fine Monday, but we are moving right on into April here as winter says it's last goodbyes! Sweet Rose Bakeshop has been plotting out a little event for this Easter coming, a goodie basket of sorts as well as a few new things to try for this Spring! We'll get more details as the ladies finalize their ideas!
On a side note, the shop has been experiencing some trouble with supplies, so I hope you can understand our shortage of creamcheese and plastic wares, as getting them in has been rather difficult of late. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hello and Happy New Year Purcellville! We've had a wonderful end of the year with a beautiful thick blanket of snow to get the New Year started! Unfortunately, Sweet Rose Bakeshop will still be closed following our last post! A member of our staff was recently diagnosed with the Corona Virus and hence forth we have put the entire establishment under quarantine. Sweet Rose Bakeshop will reopen following a thorough doctor's clearance of all Sweet Rose Staff! We're very sorry for the inconvenience, the staff member is recovering better than expected, and we hope you all stay warm and healthy! Hello hello Purcelville! As we move on to the next year, Sweet Rose Bakeshop would like you all to know that the bakery will be closed for maintenance for the remainder of December! We have started making Cocoa bombs. There are hot cocoa, Caramel, Hazelnut and Mint.
Large orders always welcome. 400 of these little beauties were enjoyed in Leesburg. I love to see that we are all bouncing back and looking out for one another.

Morning Morning Purcellville, yet another beautiful morning with a cool crisp 40 degrees out and I'm on my second post in a row! The ladies are all heart felt for your concerns about the past post, and apologize again for the current situation! We'll be seeing to a solution as soon as possible of course!
As for what is coming out of the ovens though! Danishes are back on the spring menu along with fresh fruit cups, mousse cups, boston cream pies, red velvet bundt cakes, cinnamon walnut bundts, and plenty more still to come! So stay tuned here as I aim for three posts in a row!

The past year has been one mad house of a year for sure! Sweet Rose Bakeshop is posting today though with a hopeful notice of better weather and events ahead, with some fair luck and planning ahead of course! With that, here's what's new with your local Bakery!
Quite a bit has changed, but Sweet Rose is still has all ovens blazing! Our menu for this year to come has changed up quite some bit however! Some big notices to take note of, is that Sweet Rose Bakeshop will be discontinuing Donuts and Croissants for a little while to come! We will let you know when we can get them back on the menu of course! In the mean time however, the ladies are working out a whole new line of desserts and meals! We'll have plenty of new things to spy and try this weekend with slightly warmer weather ahead! So make sure to come on out and bring your masks Purcellville! A quick reminder that our Holiday schedule is a little hectic. Sweet Rose Bakeshop is open today (23rd) and will be closed for December 24th and 25th! The following week we will be open December 29th (Tuesday) and closed January 1st (Friday)
As for the Decorator's Calendar and what is being baked, our Calendar is booked through the rest of December into January and the Decorator will NOT be taking anymore Custom orders until January 18th!

Oh, where does a story begin? The first crack of a hammer on nail through out a hollow old building or the first spark of an inspiration’s birth in a grey dreary place? For me, the story begins a long long time ago under the warm summer sun. Where the breeze blew threw the open window screens and the fresh smell of chocolate chip cookies lured us in from playing in the woods, far off the main road and far off from any worries. A little plot of land in the middle of nowhere. That, is where it all begins for me at least. Baking was always something we did as parents, as kids, and as family and and as friends here in Sweet Rose Bakeshop. When the ground was soaked and the sky was dark, a cup of milk and a snickerdoodle was our indoor escape. When the air was cold and the winds howled with shards of ice, a hot chocolate and a slice of butter cake was our warm blankets around the wood stove. Mind you, it wasn’t just our sweet tooth for delectable desserts that lead us or even got us here in Purcellville, Virginia. It was the long trek through hard times, tiring days of do-it-yourself projects, and cold mind numbing corporate retail jobs that wore down and refined our dreams into an escape for anyone and everyone from the struggles of our times. Because we are here to bring a smile to your day, and our story is about your story. Your story that you can smile and tell your kids and your grand kids and your friends and family, because at the end of a long day, who is anyone to tell you that you don’t deserve a little something to brighten your everyday just a little more? Keep your day Fantastic as always Purcellville! You deserve it after all.
