Since stepping into her role as Student Nutrition Director, Olga has transformed the Porterville Unified School District’s nutrition program into a model of innovation, quality, and community connection.

Olga introduced the district’s now-anticipated annual food show, bringing together vendors, staff, and students in a collaborative event that highlights new menu ideas and elevates the overall dining experience across campuses. The event has quickly become a cornerstone of the department’s forward-thinking approach.

Under her leadership, Porterville Unified has emerged as a Central Valley leader in farm-to-fork, scratch-cooked meals. Olga has prioritized fresh, high-quality ingredients and built strong partnerships with local farmers, incorporating seasonal produce directly into school menus. This commitment not only supports the local agricultural community but also ensures students receive nutritious, flavorful meals prepared from scratch.

Olga has also led a complete overhaul of the district’s menus, carefully tailoring offerings to meet the needs and preferences of all age groups—from elementary to high school. The result is a more engaging, balanced, and appealing dining experience for students across all sites.

Known for her hands-on leadership style, Olga consistently leads by example, working alongside her team and fostering a culture of pride and professionalism. She is deeply committed to education, regularly engaging with both students and staff to promote nutrition awareness and inspire healthier choices.

Equally impactful is the environment she has cultivated within the department. Colleagues describe Olga as creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages collaboration, growth, and positivity for both staff and visitors.

The impact of her leadership has not gone unnoticed. Students and staff alike have reported a significant improvement in both the quality and consistency of meals, with many noting that the program has reached new heights since her arrival.

As Porterville Unified continues to prioritize student well-being, Olga’s vision and dedication stand as a driving force behind a nutrition program that is not only feeding students—but inspiring them.
