From One Family to Another
The Best Little Poboy House began in 1984 as a small restaurant owned and operated by Sharon and Bruce Broussard. Initially the restaurant was a two employee establishment serving lunch to about thirty Port Allen locals per day. However, through years of family ownership and commitment to quality, the business grew creating the need for more employees; naturally Bruce and Sharon brought their children Michael and Melanie in to assist in daily operations. In 2008 the Torch was passed on to Michael as Sharon Semi-retired. In 2003 the business moved to the corner of 6th St. and California Avenue where it remained staple lunch establishment, until 2019 when the family decided to retire the business. It speaks volumes of it’s popularity that one of its patrons decided to take over the reigns and reopen it under new management.
The 2019 established Poboy House is now owned and operated by the Sanchez and Allain families, who hope to continue to provide the same quality of standards and service, with a new twist. Our goal is to preserve the traditions of the old with a kicked-up taste of the new, that will keep customers talking about this little poboy house for many more years to come.
