With the holidays coming up, I have a lot of inquiries asking if I am baking again or not. Here is a little update: in July, the boys and I went to Universal and then on a cruise. When I returned from vacation, it was discovered that I had a vertebral artery disecection on both sides of my neck. This week, I had a follow up scan and they both are healing well and normal blood flow has returned to my brain (although, those of you who know me might find that debatable 🤪) and I can return to normal activities such as looking down for extended periods of time while decorating cookies and cakes. Unfortunately, normal activities do not include rollercoasters and water slides. (I asked specifically about TRON and the neurologist asked me why I would even test it. 😂 Is that even a question?!) Even with the good news, I have decided that I am going to continue to take the rest of the year off. I have a handful of bakers I can recommend if you need a specialty order before the new year, let me know and I will share their contact info! I have had a lot of inquiries, I have an injury that is going to prevent me from doing custom cookies until Novemeber. However, we are available for other dessert orders!

When our son was a toddler he requested a Polar Express cake for his birthday in June. I couldn’t find ANYONE who would make it. So, when he would go to bed at night, I would practice making them until I got it right. This is how I got started baking and when the crazy cake requests from my boys started. Recently, he turned 10 and asked for an individual sized waffle cake. So I experimented with these two. Which do you prefer? Also, is it cake?
