First ingredient in the gluten free banana chocolate chip loaf? Bananas. Three and a half large bananas to be exact. That’s how this loaf stays moist for days and has such a delicious sweet banana bread flavor. Throw in some chocolate chips (because we can’t help ourselves in this house) and you have a classic favorite, but gluten free version. If you got a slice this week, you’re in for a treat!

Gluten free vegan cherry dark chocolate chip scones are on the menu this week. It’s been a long time since these have been on the menu, but it’s a staple I make for an out of town friend when I see her. My oldest daughter has been asking for them lately, so here they are making a return!

I first soak the dried cherries in vanilla extract to soften them just a bit and add a little extra flavor to the dough, then add lots of my favorite chocolate chips (72% dark chocolate chunks!) and use a touch of almond extract. They get brushed with coconut cream, baked and finished with coarse sugar.
You don’t have to LOVE cherries to really enjoy one of these scones! The flavors together are delicious and go great with a black coffee or a latte.

Highlights:
•Megan now has a Marigold Sourdough Bakery account on Hotplate! This allows her to make more events and manage things like custom orders.

•Hotplate now offers COLLAB events where both Megan and I can list our items to one event and customers can checkout and purchase anything from either of us. **Just like it normally looks on your end!** It will just show Collab now on the listings. The checkout experience should look the same on your end.

•I will be offering Fridays as an option for Marigold Collective Coffee Cart cart events and pop-ups! Our weekend sports schedules are really busy in the fall, so this gives another option to get out and about some with the cart. Interested in a private event?! DM me!

•Fridays will be Megan’s bread pick up day for Marigold Sourdough Bakery and will be on her porch (right next door!) to keep it consistent for customers on days when I am not offering coffee at my house.

•I will not be out with the cart every Friday, just some! If I am not offering porch pick up coffee on a Friday because I am out with the cart, I’ll move the coffee pick up day to another day that week.

•THURSDAYS remain as the big day of baked goods! We always accept custom order requests for other days, but our primary baked goods day is Thursday.

If you have family members like mine, Nutella pop tarts are on the menu this week. A chocolate crust filled with Nutella and topped with a Nutella glaze. It doesn’t get more Nutella flavored than this, without actually eating a straight spoonful! Pre-orders are open for Thursday pick up. Gluten free & dairy free! Now that apple season has arrived, I’m excited to bring back this customer favorite (and a household favorite) muffin to Marigold. One of the softest muffins to hit the menu, filled with chopped honey crisp apples, cinnamon and topped with a cinnamon streusel.

If you didn’t get one before they sold out, keep an eye for them to be on the menu a few more times this upcoming month!

So you bought a batch of bakery items, but there’s a couple left over. What should you do? The freezer is your friend here! Wrap your items individually in cling wrap and place them in the freezer. Then, the next time you have a busy morning you can pull one out and reheat in the microwave for an easy breakfast. I’ve been known to make an extra batch of hummingbird cake scuffins for this reason! Next bakery drop goes live on Sunday evening at 7.
