I have some exciting news to share…
Some of you know I changed jobs 8 months or so ago and left my WFH position to work in the field as a hospice nurse. As a RNCM I was salaried and working 5 days a week with additional weekend requirements. I averaged 45-55 hours per week for the last several months. It wasn’t just the hours, it was the way I was treated and unsupported. After some serious soul searching I decided it was time for me to move on. I’ve never left a job so abruptly but it was toxic and I needed out for my own well-being which was pouring over into all avenues of my life. My family, my mental health and MY BAKING.
Why am I telling you this? For a few reasons:
1. To encourage, even just ONE person, to stand up for themselves BOLDLY, unapologetically and even if you shake a little in your boots. 😉 It feels so good to say “I deserve better”.
2. My new position (different company) is going great and I am now afforded 2 days off each week (12 hour shifts are a beautiful thing). With that, I plan to get my hands back into the dough which has been a creative and therapeutic outlet that I’ve missed aka MORE BAKE DAYS
3. I appreciate all of you so much. Thought you deserved an explanation as to where I’ve been the last 6 months.
Stay tuned and add a friend to our group if you love bread!
Thank you always,
Jillian
