This week deserves some special recognition with many miles traveled and numerous examples of immense generosity on the part of those who care for the elders who helped raise us to who we are today. A big round of applause to Dream City Church - White Mountains for the Feb. 13 “Night to Shine” prom for people with special needs. It was a tremendous experience for all in attendance and the residents and staff at Haven Health Lakeside are very grateful for being included in the celebration. I picked up Woolly in Zuni, NM on my way home from Gallup earlier this week. She was born in Fort Apache and always enjoys coming home to visit. She’ll hang out with Oscar for a couple of weeks while her family enjoys traveling to warmer places. As always, there will be bread this weekend though in limited supply (6 loaves available). Contact me if you would like to order bread now, or in the coming week.

This is my newly purchased, refurbished Vitamix for grinding wheat berries for the whole wheat portion of the sourdough recipe I favor. The dough loves the fresher flour that comes from grinding it before I mix dough. How can I tell? The extra gas bubbles and higher rise are the clues that this is a good way to improve the bread. I’ve finished baking for today and have a few loaves available: plain sourdough, Kalamata olive and black sesame seed. Call or text me at 928-205-5822.
